Sucks losing to the 6ers no matter what. This game epitomized it’s better to be good in the 2nd half than the 1st. But it was close to the finish so no statement was made by them.
Kawhi looks great. PG not as much I think if we had Wall we woulda had way more fast breaks.
Other than losing we’re alright

I can not pin point what happened in the third quarter .
The defense was not the same and the shots were not falling.
Kahwi was the player of the game.

I was only able to watch the 1st half. We looked every bit like a championship caliber team. I knew we'll cough up that 20pt lead. Let's face it, every team in the league coughs up big leads these days. Disappointing we didn't close it out in the 4th.
This team will only go as far as Kawhi takes us. His midrange was straight cash in the first half. That's my silver lining for this loss.

kinda just seemed to me that the team thought it was in the bag, except it wasn't.
then the other team decided, hey, we're still alive cause that dork reggie jackson took a ridiculous, early in the shot clock, contested 3 for no good reason that would have put us in prison, and now we can just make a three and breathe new life into ourselves
after that? it was all downhill from there, because kawhi wasn't in the game and if you're relying on paul george to handle the ball and make good basketball decisions to decide the fate of your team, you're probably asking for too much.

Its like we don't even want to win these games. I knew that 20 point lead was fools gold. But then again it probably holds up if there's less Reggie and Morris and more Powell and Kennard. Can't believe we're still playing favorites in the year 2022

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it may not have been playing favorites so much as Powell and Kennard still likely having some type of minutes restriction

Even during our darkest Doc days, I wasn't a fan of going at him after every loss. Ty has yet to blow a 3-1 lead with a healthy roster, so he definitely gets a much longer leash from me. He clearly wants a decent sample size with everyone available before making major adjustments, we'll see how that goes.
Now obviously I'd prefer not waiting until we're down 0-2 in the first round before we see some necessary lineup changes. Sometimes the FO needs to lend a helping hand.
RoCo being completely out of the rotation makes zero sense to me. Just feels like he can bring a lot more to the table than Mook, who lives and dies by his shot making. This would've been a good opportunity to throw RoCo at Embiid for a few possessions.
I'm not ready to take Reggie behind the barn just yet, need to see more of him next to Kawhi and PG. Same goes for Wall, although his lack of shooting makes it a tougher sell.
Kawhi, PG, Batum, Zu, Luke, Mann should be rotation locks as far as I'm concerned. In an ideal world, we could get some consistency from either Reggie or Wall, and there would be an actual competition between Mook and RoCo. If that's not happening, then tweak the roster, but it has to be more than a Moses Brown upgrade.

adult in the room, thank you
Powell definitely pushing minutes restriction and Kennard is not Steph Curry, he's barely Seth Curry lol
another juvenile vulture game thread I'm glad I missed
so now go look at the 76er gamethread
all our coaches should be fired
all our players should be benched or traded
cementheads are the same the world over

Reggie barely shot and only played 24 minutes even with no backup point guard. PG had a crap game. But PG also has this team on his back. When there are no good shots, Reggie and PG are going to take the bad shots because nobody else will. It's their job to look bad.
Kawhi is a weird bird, cherry-picking his spots. That's how he rolls. Kawhi is not going to have an 8-30 night. But he's not going to pass up a good shot either and pass the hot potato. Not criticizing. But PG or Reggie stepping back from being aggressive is not winning basketball either.
In fact, J-Wall is getting trashed for being too aggressive and not getting the results. And Powell was the board whipping boy after a truly historically horrible first month. Ty hung with him.
Now we want 36 minutes from him in his 2nd game back. And Ty fired. OK.

With all due respect, shouldn't the bar be set higher than that? You're supposed to not blow 3-1 leads. Praising a coach for that is like praising them for showing up to the arena on time for the game.
Lue can't even get a 3-1 lead in the first place anyway. He's always putting us in a 0-2 deficit with his favoritism and glacially slow adjustments.

This. Well, sort of. PG didn't have a crap game. He had a great first and an okay second quarter. And then he was garbage for the rest of the game. Still was better than Mook, who was bad for the whole game. Powell did what Powell has done pretty much every game since the first five; he’s great for what he is. (And he’s taking the bad shots too—they just go in a whole lot more because they aren’t that bad.) Kawhi is rounding back into superstar shape—sure we need to learn to play with him, but that’s not his fault. Zu actually held his own out there—the problem was we had no other big man to speak of on the court. Batum isn’t big enough, tho’ he was pretty good out there, And it comes down to that—good games from Kawhi and Powell, solid efforts from Zu and a good half from PG are not going to take down on a contender on their home court. WE need someone/something else—preferably a guard—to have a good game as well. And the backup PF/C!

Not all games are lost. Sometimes the other team WINS it. 44 points? 21 assists in a triple-double? Those guys are HOFers and to scapegoat our role players is nonsense.
“I just do what I do,” Harden added. “Honestly, I feel really good and just trying to get to that paint and they do a really good job of using their length. They’re a really long team, they switch, they do a really good job of switching so I tried to press the paint and really try and find matchups that work in our advantage that really make the game easier for all of us and guys knock down shots, Joel did a really good job of getting to his spots. It was a total team effort.”
The blame game is silly--especially in December. We're still the 5th seed despite all the injuries and minutes restrictions. [And frankly, it's a bit early for Kawhi to be diving for balls yet. He's still ramping up.]

Or if you are good in the first half, make sure (hope) your lead is large enough that your second half down still allows you to win; because if the Clippers were down in the first half, but down more than the lead they had, it could end with the same result.
Of course that's why the games are 48 minutes. You also generally don't expect good teams (even meh ones at times) to just go away, and even more so on the road with the fans on their side.

I think something was off about their defensive scheme last night. In the first half they let Embiid have open midrange shots at will. In the second half, they gave up too many wide open 3s. True, the sixers aren’t a great 3 point shooting team, but you can’t let guys t up wide open 3s in the nba

Re: Game#34 Clippers @ 76ers 4:00pm
Ty's rotations, explained
plus/minus per 100 possessions
Kawhi +4.9
Luke +10.2
PG +7.0
Batum +6.0
Reggie -0.7
Morris -0.8
Mann -1.5
Wall -4.0
Zubac -5.2
Covington -6.7
Coffey -9.2
We'll give Powell's minus-6.7 a pass since he's improved so drastically since the first 10 or so games. But as we see, many nights we were without 1-3 of our top 4 guys, leaving Reggie as even the best or second-best player in uniform that night--and he's been playing hurt much of the year.
He's getting far more minutes than he even wants to play. Backup J-Wall has been far less effective and missed a lot of games, and that's left Reggie to take the load--Kawhi and Kennard are still playing themselves back into shape and more minutes.
Frankly, Zubac is a much bigger worry--after playing career-high minutes the first month, he seems to be a shadow of that New Zu lately. RoCo is still way behind, and Coffey's numbers are through the floor, so no help there either. Mann is meh, a tweener at 3 positions.
Yes, in an ideal world, Reggie should be the backup PG playing 20 mpg. But it's not HIS fault he has to cowboy up. It's to his credit. As usual, once you consider the alternatives, Reggie is the least of our problems.
