Seems like Collins would be a great sixth man next to Claxton and Simmons. Would still play big minutes.

The starting five + Curry, Yuta, Warren, and Collins is a pretty strong playoff rotation.

Our perimeter defense and shooting takes a bigger hit than the upgrade from Warren/Yuta to Collins as a 6th man. We need another big guard that can be a point of attack defender more than another big.

If KD could convince Jae Crowder to play despite not receiving a contract extension from us, would you trade for him?

Assuming he's in basketball shape and the Sun's would trade him straight up for Curry, sure. I have doubts about both.

Great win! Finally a good win against a good team, even though they were not at full strength. It was a joy to watch the ball move on offense. Last time we played the C's the team went back to iso offense. When the ball and players move, good things happen offensively.

Good game on defense as well. Maybe a little too many open threes. If the bucks were hot, the game would have looked differently. But overall this was a great improvement to earlier games and a great game by clax and Ben.

Now we have to bring the same energy and discipline against the Cavs. Another win and we will be taken serious again. Let's goooo!

John Collins cannot guard Giannis/Embiid etc. What is the point in adding him?

We need an actual backup Center. I'm still looking at the buyout market or focusing on playing Sharpe.

Here's the Grant Williams analogue:

I feel like dude's going to pop someone's shoulder out, like Olynyk did against Love.

I would prefere they chase Vucevic from the Bulls for say Harris plus.

Has true 5 size/weight for the larger opponent 5s and spreads the floor.
Good for 20 to 25 mins a game when needed, would be great with Ben.

League should do something about this guy. But they won't because he is their new darling.

Watching Knicks-Sixers. Hope Knicks win so we get separation from Philly.

I hope Knicks win just so that the hairline fractures in Philly continue to develop into something bigger... Can't wait for Harden to flake on Philly or for Embiid to lose his cool when he needs a scapegoat for his own failures.

Claxton proving that he’s a winning player and is pretty easily our 3rd best player.

Dude should be on All-NBA defensive first team this year. Just a matter if he gets enough of a media narrative behind him.

Good shooter certainly.

But gets paid way too much and not really a good defender.

Ben led Nets in rebounding, assists, steals and plus-minus!

I look at it as 4mill more than Joe and this is his last year guaranteed.
Now do we need Joe's skillset more than a big bodied shooting 5.

Something to watch?

In the last 2 games, the Nets have been a combined -25 when Simmons is on the bench

No idea what those rotations were but that's a big number when you consider how dominant we were for much of those games

Perimeter size is a bigger need than another big. We absolutely should not make that issue worse for an expensive, no defense center.

Which bigs do they need to worry about ?. Someone said here or elsewhere that Horford was a twin tower with Embiid. He is a good player even at his age but Is shorter than Claxton, Simmons and Durant and probably doesn’t outweigh 2 of them. I have doubts about Embiid delivering for a whole tight 7 game series fitness wise or otherwise. And the Nets are very well equipped to target and tire Jokic on defense.

What you don’t want is KD playing many minutes defensively at Center in the regular season, people including me were saying that on the GSW board in 2019, so there is that I agree.

I mostly agree with this.

I actually think in the playoffs we can survive with Claxton/Simmons. Small lineups have worked for teams like the LeBron Heat or Warriors in the past.

The issue is regular season matchups. Especially if Claxton gets into foul trouble etc. Need another reliable big to bruise with these 7 footers for another 50 games.
