Wow I didn't know you went to the game. I thought I read you WATCHED it. First off congrats to Jalen Wilson for 1,000 career points. 2nd. I LOVE both of those players. that must have been awesome. I didn't know you were from there...
I live in Charlotte, but I was in Kansas City for a work party and decided to swing to Lawrence to catch a game with my wife.
Good times. If realgm wasn't so weird about sharing pics I could show some cool ones.

Great news, Max Lewis plays today on ESPNU at 3:30 PM. I am gonna DVR the game but that may be your last chance to see him before conference championship week.

The game is going to begin at 4:00 on ESPNU with Max Lewis.
Also I really am a big fan of Reese Dixon-Waters. He doesn't average much stat wise (I think due to being on a team with talented upper classman) but I think he has a low key star power. Also want to invite Parker Stewart if he goes undrafted.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
Dannis Jenkins is such a great PG. I have he and Clayton as 2nd rounders. I like what I see from Max Lewis in that he can do a little bit of everything. The problem I havve with him is not sure he can do all he attempts to consistantly. I do not think this draft has many stars but players that can compliment a roster well.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
After this game I am cool if we take Lewis but not sure I have him as top tier anymore. I have narrowed MY selection to
Keyonte George, Nikola Durišić, Jalen Wilson (with a few still outside looking in)
Keyonte George - What I like about him is he can play combo guard. But I don't think he can do it in a starters role (meaning the PG spot) so not really sure how effective that is. He reminds me more of Hayward than Rozier.
Jalen Wilson - he is like a boxer that likes body blows. You does everything under the radar and next thing you know his stat line is rediculous and his team is beating yours.
Nikola Durišić - what I like about him is he can be insurance for Lamelo. but with such a deep PG draft not sure we should worry about that.
Max Lewis - he kinda reminds me of Jalen WIlson with more athleticism, but Jalen does it so much more effortlessly.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
So many players I like in this draft. Took me a bit but I also like Juan Nunez.
My picks for the 1st pick are
CG - *Keshon Gilbert, *Agustin UBAL,
SG - *Keyonte George,
SF - *Jalen Wilson, *Nikola Durisic,
My new sleeper is - Dalton Knecht. I love the way he carves up defenses. He reminds me sooo much of Agustin UBAL. Right now I think I would go with Durisic but not sure due to UBAL and Knecht around. I also don't know why Kevin McCullar, and Alex Fudge are so underrated.

I'm worried enough about Wemby's health with this franchises luck and iffy medical staff that I'd almost rather get Scoot, but if they had the 2nd pick I'd be worried theyd take Amen Thompson or something. This draft will be stressful if they don't get the 1st pick.

Most likely scenario, if we get healthy, is we end up playing our way into the 5-10th pick.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
I think it's best that we end up with a better record than the first pick. If we get pick 5 we will more than likely pick between Keyonte George or Anthony Black. Sometimes it's best to have players fall to you if you are not comptetent enough to choose them yourself.
Also if we draft Dalton Knecht, we can call his thread

Cheesy but good lol.

I'm still concerned about this too, but fwiw they are 2-5 since LaMelo's return and 2-4 since Hayward + LaMelo have been back and have still looked pretty bad. One of the two wins was against the Lakers without AD and they have a loss against the Pistons in that span.
Their next 11 games include games against Brooklyn, Memphis, Milwaukee, Indiana, Toronto x2, and Boston x2. The schedule doesn't let up too much after that because there are a lot of solid teams this season. I'm hoping they keep piling up losses in that stretch and then the front office surprises everyone with a bit of competence and sells some guys before the deadline, but yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up for an ideal outcome.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
I'm pretty skeptical of Keyonte George so far and don't have him as high as others.
I'd probably take Anthony Black 3rd if the draft were today tbh. Whitmore has a chance to surpass him and a lot of people are going to have Amen Thompson locked into 3rd, but as of right now hes the player I'm most sold on for this team after Wemby/Scoot. I really hope he goes to the Hornets or Rockets (unless they are both picking top 2 obv). Hes an insane fit for the Rockets roster and hes from Texas.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread
I think its fine if they win a few more games as long as they stay bottom four. They are 4.0 games behind 5th/6th worst right now, and those two teams are Orlando and Washington, who both have enough talent to win some games here and there.
4th worst record has a 24.7% chance at top 2, which is only 2% worse than the last place team. The floor is 8th, but only has a 2.2% chance.

If you finish with the worst record you are guaranteed at least 5th pick. 1-3 is the top tier of talent generally and then 4-5 also have pretty good elite talent hit rates. I haven't checked the percentages but it feels like 6 onwards has a much lower chance of snaring an impact/franchise player.

Hey plays saturday I think it 2:00 on ESPNU. UNLV also plays saturday at 4:00 on CBS I think as well. UNLV has Keshon Gilbert who is only a sophmore who might have climbed up the draft charts (i haven't looked in a bit). I know they have mocked so many of the players I have had on their before them. I see Max Lewis is now a LOTTERY PICK on a few mocks.
KEYONTE GEORGE - I like you was not a fan at first when I saw him play.
Then I saw him play again and became a fan. He reminds me a bit of Hayward in that he can play the PG in spots
but probably not as much as Rozier does.
He does have an IT factor too him and seems to try and takeover the game with both passing, driving and playing PG.
This is a road game and he will be going against a really good player in Jaren Holmes so that could be different.
I saw him play at home or neutral I believe.
