Games 12-21 to 1-14

Post#1 » by Wizop » Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:12 pm

We've reached the point where a block of players can now be traded. The next block will go from the time the last group becomes available to the deadline.

It's halftime but I've been watching Zellenskyy speak to Congress. My cablebox is recording the game but I think I'll stick with Ukraine lest I jinx the Pacers by watching. FWIW my maternal grandfather was from what is now Ukraine although when he left it was Galicia, a province of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.

Only saw the 2nd half.
Can’t say enough about Tyrese.
Interesting against this level opponent we saw limited TJ and less Hield. On this night we needed Nemhart, Nesmith and Duarte.

Then you are aware of the Holodomor where Stalin starved millions of people to death.

Yes, although my grandfather and his parents left earlier than that. I'm also aware of the irony of a Jewish leader there.

You're right about TJM. He only played 10 minutes. But Buddy did play 30 minutes, so not much change there. Duarte gave a good accounting of himself, especially for only his second game back. Gotta love the buzzer beater.

My formula had the Heat game as first to 110 based on halftime score. Tied at 108 Hali hits 3 for 111.

The only thing falling faster the temperature has been Pacer three-point shots.

I hear Theis is close to available. It'll be interesting to see how he's used with Smith playing 5 and iJax sitting.

Add the two half time scores and lower to next multiple of 10. It worked great for years when scores were lower. Numbers of 100 or lower are better predictions than higher numbers. My formula is much better than the old first to 100 when the number is 80 or 90.

Very cool, I'm going to be looking at the scores differently from now on

What's the higher priority, juicing the market for Thies or continuing the development process for the young bigs? Not sure the potential return for Thies under any circumstances merits reducing opportunities for Jackson and Smith. My sense is Carlisle really likes Smith and he will get his minutes.

If you ask Herbie, I think he'd say winning games to make the playoffs. Will Theis play with Turner or Smith when we play teams with a big 4 or will we stay small and try to make them match down?

Right now I'm seeing Rick generally going small in hopes of playing opposing team's bigs off the floor. If that continues Thies would cut into Jalen Smith's minutes.

Tonight's game against Narlens should be interesting. Looks like most of their team is out. No Zion, no Ingram, no Nance no Murphy III, Daniels and no Herbie Jones. They look very short handed. We all remember that Brooklyn game so can't expect these guys to role over!

Pacers making it easy to watch Colts. Once again they've failed to show up against a short handed team. First to 90.

Banked in 3 at the end of the quarter gives them 90.
