Prime Magic/Bird vs 2023 Curry/Jokic

Which duo would you take for a single postseason today's game?

Magic and Bird are in their prime and they get a full offseason and regular season to acclimate to the modern game.

about even on offense, both would be the core of an exceptional offense with role players around them.

on defense, jokic plays the most important position, and he's not much of defensive presence. his quick hands and good rebounding are not enough. he cant switch so the team is forced to play drop, and he's not a rim protector either. where as bird and magic arent great on ball defenders but magic is a decent help defender and bird is a great help defender (pre back injury). their deficiencies can be hidden better with a defensive center and some on-ball stoppers to pair with them.

The fit with Steph/Jokic just seems cleaner to me

Curry/Jokic might just be the best offensive tandem to build around ever.

I think the idea of the steph and Jokic pick and roll would be pretty impossible to stop, altho ofc there are others you can replace one of those names with and have the same situation

The way magic and bird play probably synergize well, the guy whose arguably the best off ball mover ever and the guy who can utilize that better than anyone

I don't think you can go wrong with either pairing, but the PNR/DHOs with Jokic and Steph seems like offense you could go to every time down the floor without ever getting predictable. Not to even get into the gravity both guys have off-ball

he's not on their level on offense but i can't help but suspect giannis-curry might just be better on o anyway.

The syngery there would be absurd while i think there's some overlap with jokic and curry
