They were one defender short last night which allowed Denver to score 76 points on 78% shooting combined in the 2nd and 4th quarters. The more negative defenders on the court, the less ability Miami can swarm a low post player effectively.

I would love to see Thybulle added to this bench, he's a lengthy disruptor they need off the bench to help cause havoc.

We just need to find a solid starter than can shoot and defend that moves Martin to the bench for an off the bench defender.

No more guys who do literally nothing offensively, if we’re making a trade it needs to be for guys who can play both sides of the ball. We already have a Thybulle in Highsmith

Wow, what a horrible take in Thybulle and Highsmith.

You guys don't get it with defense, if you're not having to get the ball out of the basket and pass it in, you have more time on offense and you give the defense less time to pick up the man they want to guard which can lead to some favorable matchups. This team doesn't have enough offensive talent to go head-to-head against other offensive talented teams, they have to win with defense.

How many more bad defenders does this team need? It's going to get really ugly in the playoffs when they're picking on certain players to go after time after time.

What was bad about it?

Where am I asking for bad defenders lol? I said if we’re going through the trouble of making trades then we need to be focused on guys who can play both sides ends. In one of the main if not the main ones complaining about horrible defense from Lowry Herro Strus and Duncan.

Yea that’s great and all until you get a stop, run the floor and the open man is Thybulle who’s a worse shooting than some on this board probably.

You said we don’t have what it takes to score with other teams but followed that up by saying we need to add a horrible offensive player, I just don’t see the logic in that. This team need 2 way guys, we have too many one dimensional players.

We’re a top 8 defense as it is, we’re a bottom 5 offense. We need guys that can put the ball in the basket from multiple areas, especially from 3 BUT they need to be able to defend as well.

We already have a Thybulle in Highsmith.

Highsmith is nowhere near Thybulle in defense. Philly should have gone all in with defense with Embiid, Butler and Thybulle but they didn't, they picked Harris over Butler, kept their "potential" in Simmons and then a year or 2 later went out and added Harden.

Miami has enough offense to go with a great defense, the problem has been the push away from defense this year.

We’re a top 8 defense as it is, we’re a bottom 5 offense. We need guys that can put the ball in the basket from multiple areas, especially from 3 BUT they need to be able to defend as well.

Top 8 means only 25% of the NBA teams out there plays better defense which is basically the top half of the playoff teams. It's a road leading to nowhere and for the sake of the franchise, since they've done very little to upgrade in now 3 off-season's, move Butler to whoever gives them the best package and just be happy being in the middle, at least it'll be more exciting to the fanbase with more points being scored.

AirP, the team needs 2 way scorers/shooters. That increases both the offense and defense, im not sure what the debate is.

Yes they should’ve went Jimmy over Tobias who is great on BOTH sides of the ball. Better than Harris on both sides. Simmons was an elite defender and a bad offensive player. Majorly flawed, part of why he is where he is today

If they want to store thyb for 2 years and try to develop him then great but he’s nothing more than a situational defender here or there. Highsmiths defense has been elite by the way

No it’s a solid ass role player lol. Marcus Morris a star? KCP a star? Aaron Gordon a star? Caleb a star? Grant Williams a star? Etc. Etc. Stop trying to cover for your boy Duncan being one dimensional by acting like only star players can effect both sides of the ball.

You're right L Deng, Ariza, etc were 2 way role players. They were brought and didn't really help in that front instead of Tucker and Crowder.

I like your idea of Turner and Hield. Esp after seeing the catch and shoot stats. Def thats what the team needs. But Pacers are playing well, they won't trade.

Return to Miami Heat
