We do need to rest him as much as we can and keep him fresh for the playoffs. Let him get healthy now and play him 20 minutes a game when he’s recovered from his hand injury.
Similarly, can doc stop playing Harden 40+ mins a game? What a disaster. The team still needs a couple more trades to bolster the 3/4/5 positions. A 3 & D wing would be sweet although unlikely. And a backup C like Andre Drummond who can fill the rebounding holes of this team?
I keep hearing about how tucker is a playoff piece and not a regular season piece. I have my doubts about what he will be able to do on the floor with this team when the playoffs come around. It has more to do with how this team built compared to the Heat or Bucks when he played well with them. On the Bucks he played next to Giannis , Portis and Lopez and with the Heat he played between Bam and Butler. I think Tucker was a better fit with those last two teams because their size and athleticism made up for Tuckers lack there of. His physicality and toughness complimented what they already had.
The Sixers are small at every position despite joel embiid who I hate to say plays smaller than his size and are asking a 6'5 37 y.o to defend the best wings and forwards every night. .We have struggled to rebound the ball all year and lack length on the wings also pairing him with Tobias just exacerbates how slow this team really is.
Im concerned with how this team will be able to compete against the Celtics , Bucks , Nets and Cavs in the playoffs with our lack of size, length and rebounding ability. Tucker doesn't really help us there. It goes back to the construction of this roster.
