Now that Sensabaugh is getting minutes at OSU, he’s showing how deadly he is from range and scoring in bunches. I think he will move up to top 10 range by the end of the season and he’s a freshman as well.

Slot both of them at SG and have them split time and we have that position covered. Trade some of our big depth for a solid PG and we roll for the playoffs next year.

im biased, but Miller is a stud. would love to get him

Miller is a SF.
Sensabaugh with the Bulls pick?
Is that not a little too high for him??

I prefer Dick or Howard with the Bulls pick!

If the Magic can come out of this daft with Gradey Dick, I will be happy.

Edit: Emoni Bates could be another player to take a long look at.

Not at all. Dick holds the one NBA skill the Magic desperately need. Elite outside shooting. And Bates is also a former Highschooler of the year that is finally finding his form. Bates' fundamentals project very, very well in the NBA. (and a 18 year old with a gun and weed in the car, I would hope he has grown up now. He owned up to it and paid his punishment in full).

In conclusion: the Magic needs a SG. And these are two that Orlando should be scouting.

(( and Anthony Black is still my #1 SG on the board ))

A really nice news story on Bates:
TMZ link: EMONI BATES APOLOGIZES FOR GUN ARREST

This is maturity:
"I hold myself accountable for making a poor decision, and hope you can forgive me as I grow because this will not be my last mistake, however; a lasting stigma to remind me of the severity of such a mistake."

"I hope my mistake can inspire others to think before acting," he added. "Growth is a lifetime experience, I will harness the value within this lesson and continue to be of service to my community."

I agree with you but in my opinion the Magic also need a PG.
You can't count on Anthony and Suggs.

I was watching Louisville-Kentucky before i like Cason Wallace for the Magic.
Great fundamental player.
Potential to be the best two way guard in the 23 draft.

I like Black but he doesn't bring outside shooting

I like Gradey Dick but to select him with a top 8 pick seems too high for him.
Why Murray?
There are a lot of better prospects!

It takes a real man to admit they like Gradey.

well, Gradey is mocked in plenty of drafts as a top-8 pick. #6 by NBAdraftnet

This is why I think the Magic will give a long look at Dick. He has a Jonathan Clay Redick vibe to his game, but without the alligator arms.

DIck is a project in the same way Redick was a project. But there is no defining that Dick has the best mechanics on his jumper of available SGs. He would look very good in Magic blue.

But he would also not be a starter as a rookie. Fans need to temperer expectations about next year's rookie(s).

You said you like Gradey because he brings outside shooting, exactly what the Magic need.

But why do you have Black as your number 1 SG?

I like Black over DIck as there is more of a chance to be a star starter. Dick will be a young Terrence Ross type, and that is basically a proven bench player in the NBA. Yes it is a Magic need: but in the 6-10 range, just as it was with Redick, it is a stretch.

While I get the shooting comparison with Redick, Dick is a much better athlete than JJ. When the college season started, a top 10 pick on Dick sounded like a reach, but now I'm not so sure it is. He would add so much spacing and still have a versatile and athletic lineup. For me, adding shooting is the most important thing in this draft because of how it will impact Franz/Paolo.

Drafting for shooting is a bit tricky because it often takes those guys a few years to really become elite in the NBA and you can find elite shooters pretty cheap before you have to pay them (Seth, Duncan (before falling off), J. Harris, Yuta, etc). I feel like the last guy where it translated immediately was Desmond Bane but he was taken late. Maybe Trey Murphy.

2023 NBA Draft Thread

Post#560 » by Viper1500 » Sun Jan 1, 2023 10:51 pm

This draft is DEEEEEEP!! Anyone who says different isn’t watching. We will get two quality players this year. The fact that some mocks having Anthony Black going 12-17 just shows how deep it is. I’m not saying he should go higher, but that’s a good reference to use when ranking these players.
