I would rather the organization fire that Tim Connelly smug ass looking dude before the coach...while I think the coach has some accountability I think some of these other pieces are f**king it up worse being able to make insane trades like the one for Gobert. Trade his ass and try to pick up the pieces. I dont see one good thing that has come out of that trade for Minnesota. dude plays like Gumby, just lurching down the court, can't even rebound

Re: Wolves vs Pistons
Embarassing. I know it's not the final solution to the puzzle but the only way to save the season is to shake up the environment. You need to fire the coach or the GM. At that point the team would no longer have an alibi.
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

Timberwolves Have Players Only Meeting After Loss To Pistons
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/269849/Timberwolves-Have-Players-Only-Meeting-After-Loss-To-Pistons
The Minnesota Timberwolves have underachieved this season. After dropping a home game to the Detroit Pistons, Minnesota finished the 2022 portion of their schedule at 16-21 and in 11th place in the Western Conference. That's a far bit off last season's pace and well below where the team thought they would be after trading for Rudy Gobert.
Following the loss to the Pistons, the Timberwolves held a players only meeting. While no one would say exactly what was talked about, Minnesota center Naz Reid said it was productive.
"I mean, I feel like every team does at some point," Reid said. "So, moving forward, I feel like we could be heading in the right direction. I feel like we had the right conversation."
Reid was frank when asked if it's a mystery as to why the Wolves are struggling.
"Not really. We know. We know. We know why. And ya know, I'm gonna kinda keep that in house. But we know why. That's why I said before, I feel like we can change this. We know we can change it. So, we just got to buy into the things that we know."
Head coach Chris Finch said he has a couple of ideas of how to fix his team's inconsistent effort level.
“Just try to be honest with them, as honest as possible. Try to up the accountability. And maybe I need to think differently about who plays when and how. Maybe I’ve just got to shuffle it up totally different.”

Re: Wolves vs Pistons
Definitely time for a Players Only meeting. Got to admit, I have no idea who on the team had the leadership to call it? Guesses?
- Austin Rivers? But does he have the juice to get DLo to come, when he says he wants to meet people for New Years?
- Towns? Tough to call it when you’re the guy who isn’t sweaty?
- DLo? Thinking this is what he should do to give the appearance of leadership?
- Ant? Playing hurt, did he feel he had the senior standing to get his elders to listen?
I just don’t know, but I’m really curious!

Finch: offense is a joke right now, some of that is only having Ant how collapses defense. Rebounding is the biggest problem. Nobody boxes out. Tired of hearing DLo yell “block that sheet” to Rudy meanwhile he gives up deep post position. Don’t want to watch Nowell ball hog anymore. He might be top 2 ball hogs in team history.

I am surprised at how terrible this team rebounds. Who are the good rebounders on the team? Gobert and Ant.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
