Another really talented uber athletic and versatile 2 way jumbo wing forward that is currently a junior for Kansas state and flying completely under the radar that almost nobody knows about is:
Na'quon Tomlin ( KC State)
A 6'10 215 lb SF/PF. With a 7 ft+ wingspan. Plus athleticism, great physicality, aggression, versatility, lateral fluidity and advanced ballhandling skills.

I really like him as a flamethrower/ iso scorer development swing off the bench. Great crafty iso creation and unlimited range for a 6'9 wing forward!

I guess I'll focus my draft time resource into finding a new PG for us.

Cason Wallace seems like he'd be a solid target if he drops to our range. Nice size, can really shoot from 3 and 2, very solid defense. The only strange thing is he shoots 57.7% from the line. I also don't understand why his projected NBA 3pt% is so much worse than his college 3pt%..it's not like his volume is particularly low, but it probably has something to do with his FT%.
His FT volume is low, which isn't the best thing, but given his % it is...I also wonder if his FT% is an anomaly given his low volume and it being early in the season.

ABSOLUTELY!!
I really like the Jrue Holiday comps too. Would love to see him with Booker as a PGOTF consideration.

He's definitely doing some very impressive things and showing extraordinary versatility (albeit on a small sample so far). Not really sure or optimistic though that he can have similar success on an NBA level against much faster, stronger, bigger and more athletic athlets. I kinda see him as a bigger thicker version of Eric Gordon for now. I don't really see the PJ Tucker comps at all considering his defense is average at best and he's primarily a one way (offense oriented) player mostly. Although he does have decent court vision at times.

Re: 2023 Draft & NCAA season Discussion
This kid would be great with our 2nd round pick! To maximize value/ incoming talent (NEEDED), we should look to
1- Use our first round pick (lottery) on a guard/ combo guard or elite scoring/ playmaking wing. Our 1st round tiers should look something like:
1- Scoot.
2- Amen Thompson.
3- Asuar Thompson.
4- Brandon Williams.
5- Cam Whitmore.
6- Dariq Whitehead.
7- GG Jackson.
8- Keyonte George.
9- Cason Wallace.
10- Anthony Black.
Outside of lottery:
1- Maxwell Lewis Prosper.
2- Kris Murray.
3- Brice Sensabaugh.
4- Arthur Kaluma.
5- Leonard Miller.
6- Colby Jones.
7- Ba Ba Miller.
8- Emoni Bates.
9- Terquavion Smith.
10- Jett Howard.
2nd round:
1- Noah Clowney.
2- Daron Holmes 2nd.
3- Taylor Hendricks.
4- Na'Quon Tomlin.
5- Trace Jackson Davis.
6- Tristin Vukcevic.
7- John Castleton.
8- Donta Scott.
9- Pete Nance.
10- Coleman Hawkins.

Re: 2023 Draft & NCAA season Discussion
ive started to look at tankathon lol...its been awhile..
Based on where we will drafting id say im leaning towards Kris Murray at first glance.
6'8 so it looks like he can backup cam/mikal

Murray would absolutely be another great get in the 1st round. He honestly projects as a versatile Marcus Morris archetype. It's actually hard to go wrong most anywhere in this draft first round or 2nd even as it's basically littered with outlier talent throughout!

Hood Schifino or should i say Malcolm Brogdon 2.0 is really looking good recently! He's definitely another really solid PGOTF candidate with size that should absolutely be available when we pick IF we prioritize a guard in the first round! We really need to invest in our scouting now to have full disclosure on available talent that address our critical needs!

This kid just won't go away and has a fair amount of parallels to Barkley in style of play, scoring and physical dominance despite stature. I don't have him high on my board because I'm not confident on how his current success will translate against NBA level athletes, size, strength, speed??? But he's sure making a case for himself it seems.

Is there any sochan-like type on this draft?
Seems like a intriguing archetype to build upon.
San Antonio has ever whiffed on a lottery guy?

- The closest would be Jalen Graham (Arkansas) I believe. Both 6'9 around 230 lbs with Sochan having a 7ft+ wingspan and Graham having a 7'2 wingspan. Sochan with an unknown but not impressive vertical. Graham with a 39 inch vertical. Both players are very versatile switchable defenders with great recovery, fluid lateral movement and both have great anticipation and a relentless motor.
After that, You'd have Matthew Cleveland and Leaky Black that are a very close mix of Sochan/ Herb Jones) in terms of defensive switchibility and versatility, also slightly smaller Cleveland (6'7) and Black (6'8).
Seems like a intriguing archetype to build upon.

You mean like Luka Samanic, James Anderson, Lonnie Walker, Luis Scola, or Ian Mahinmi to name a few? Every team misses occasionally, even the Spurs. It's just that the top teams at drafting that consistently pull the most value from the draft just happen to put the time and investment (due diligence) into it.
