Hami is such an exciting player. Unfortunately his shot is so broken. He’s another level athlete.

Had a really great block/steal mid air to knock out a lob pass... I think he plays with an energy level with that athleticism that is sometimes borderline out of control similar to Ivey at times, but Diallo really does come in and change the energy of the game and it gets the team going as well. He's a solid rotation player for a low salary 9th or 10th guy in your rotation but I'm not sure he's going to want to come back to Detroit in that role next year. It'll be interesting to see how his situation plays out over the next 6-7 months.

Minnesota is like an implosion, just a terrible mix of players to be all in with.
And make no mistake, with the mortgaged picks to bring in Gorbert to play with Kat and Ant, this there version of an all in.
Not a good spot where there at.

It must be bad when they need a players only meeting after losing to the Pistons, which I guess is the lowest of the low.

Not sure there's a team that would commit to more than that. He's 25 next season, so the upside sell is fading away.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Re: Pistons-Timberwolves (8pm +)
Hami is going to have a wierd career. He's going to help whatever team he's on whenever given minutes and yet will always struggle to get those consistent minutes. He's going to be a "bad fit" on virtually any roster because everybody wants shooters. It's as much about floor spacing as it is about individually efficient offense, so even when he looks productive there will continue to be questions about fit. That's not going away.Laimbeer wrote:bstein14 wrote:ComboGuardCity wrote:Hami is such an exciting player. Unfortunately his shot is so broken. He’s another level athlete.

I feel like there's been multiple players only meetings in the past 5-10 years from opponents after losing to the Pistons. We must lead the league in that category.

Right. It's either that, or career-highs. I still remember Shareef Abdur-Rahim scoring 50 on Big Ben.

Re: Pistons-Timberwolves (8pm +)
The Pistons have arrived at the august status of being the team where if you lose a regular season game to them it results in team meetings and questions about whether management should be fired? All part of the "Restoration" process, I guess? Oh the humiliation and ignominy!

It was Uncle Cliffy who really played badly against SAR. Stack was hurt or we likely would've won. I was on vacation somewhere and I was happy I could even see it. Damnit, I remember that game!

Re: Pistons-Timberwolves (8pm +)
YOu seem to remember it better than me, but I remember it well. Hawks, red/yellow jerseys... Baseline field goal after another. I remember where i was when I saw it. Cliffy was still a good (but aging) defender, but I loved The Rick Carlisle years, and after just two years, Dumars then traded ... Rebraca, Sura, and another player we signed after he was waived.... for SHEED! And won a title. So this idea of having to wait forever to win is ridiculous. Guys don't develop by losing, because it means they're playing horribly, not learning. Even when the guys couldn't score for a long time, the hard work = win.
Hami is in my Top 3 favorite players, with Stew and Cade, but I do like all the guys, which is cool.
