Saying a short farewell to true Laker fans :) :(

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Tue Jan 3, 2023 5:24 am

What up Laker fans? :)

I've been a member of this forum since 2012, I've been a Laker fan ever Since Kobe became Laker - saw him play a Highschool game online and thought I'd follow Kobe where ever he goes and thankfully he got traded :) ...

B4 Kobe I was a player follower and knew a tone of B-ball back in the day (not so much now) and followed mostly guards, always went against my friends teams as it was more fun - I've been through the tough times and good times with most of you on here who are true Laker fans. I've lost a lot of interest In B-ball over the years mostly because of the 3ball era has made the game boring to watch, but still stuck to it when I ever I have the time.

As a lot of you probably know, I can't stand Lequeen and AD and Klutch sports In General, would love them all to leave but I know it's a while way b4 that happens.

We might end up being stuck with Lebron next year (unless he opts out) and I don't think Lakers will trade AD unless the right package comes along.

When Bron first came to the Lakers I posted online and was gut wrenched that he was on the team (don't care about bubble chip) my friends gave me crap for it for all the times I gave them crap haha.

The last few years with Bron I haven't really been enjoying the games even when Lakers win - liking plays here and there and what not, but that feeling of winning didn't even matter that much to me - I mean even when Lakers had Kobe down times and they won games I was happy and smiling etc - can't even do that with this clown on the team.

Haters gonna hate no matter what get over it, I'm one of them I'll never like this clown and even AD for that matter, but one step at time.

I'm preying Lequeen will want to opt out next season and not return - but think he'll stick around
Lakers again won't trade AD unless star player in return comes
And as for Klutch sports - the hell with them - I wouldn't mind them that much If all they thought was right, we gotta get every Klutch sport guy on the Lakers, like WTF - you know what I'm talking about

As I said this Is a short farewell I will from time to time come check on here, box scores and maybe highlights on youtube but as far as watching full games I'm done - I can't stand this clown any longer.

When Bron Leaves Lakers via trade/retire which ever happens, I'll come back and start posting again

But until then peace out True Laker Fans :)

It’s not just Lebron and his production and even not just losing…. Every time a post start with “I am a huge Kobe fan” :banghead: well Kobe would not let this team lose games like this, he won’t miss FTs like Lebron does etc
Yes I miss his clutch shooting, ability to carry the team too, gosh I miss coaches like Phil and Pat, or hard nosed role players like Rick Fox, Horry’s key 3’s etc too.
My saddest birthdays before was seeing Lebron win rings in Miami and Cleveland but he’s a Lakers now. Some here didn’t bother to post positive things when they won it all during the Bubble but resurfaced once they started struggling.

The reasons to not be a fan of this team don't start with LeBron. It starts with ownership.

Someone who stayed loyal between 04-08 and then after 2014 would appreciate that it’s not as easy as “Kobe wouldn’t let the team lose”. It didn’t and doesn’t work like that.

I have many reasons why I don't like him, but I think the biggest one Is - Him always complaining and whining like a little girl and top it off he always talks about needing help and again complaining over n over - all his career he always had help 2 allstars beside his name and always complains about needing help GTFOH - That's just one of many reasons I can't stand him

And to top It off, the Bron fans lmao can't stand them either.

His the biggest sook the NBA has ever had, but I think that's just another stat to his name I guess.

I'm done :)

I'm just used to my best players bleeding P&G, LeBron doesn't care about us...
He doesn't even try that hard to act like he cares...

He doesn't care about retiring a Laker, he's only concerned about what he can get out of being a Laker for a little while...

Which, I'd honestly be OK with if the team was fun to watch and had a decent shot at a title... But LeBron ball is boring as hell, and this team is horribly constructed, which is also obvious to anyone with a brain, heavily due to LeBron and Klutch...

Sure, the FO put us in this mess... They used Magic to make it happen... And now they're stuck... Trading LeBron would be painful as hell... It's not a situation you win... It's addition by subtraction... Not in wins, but in franchise health.

Smartest thing the Buss Kids could do at this point, would be to sell the team while LeBron is still a player... If they don't want to sell the team, they should be lining up trade destinations for him as soon as he's tradable, and not worry about the return... Then they should trade AD... And start rebuilding now.

I know he can't be traded this year - unless he asks for a trade (won't happen I don't think), but what Is his contract next season, player options/team option?

Just hoping this Is last season here on Lakers - He could go to clippers and I wouldn't care less haha

SlimShady83, I've enjoyed your posts and am sorry you're taking a break.
It's been an unpleasant stretch in the last 2-3 years since our championship, but I have confidence that the P&G will be back soon enough.
It seems your issue is mostly with LBJ and Klutch. I am not a huge fan of a single player or an agent having this much say in the decision making process of any team, but I still love the P&G and will continue to watch them, but definitely do get the frustration you are expressing.

If it wasn't for LBJ and AD, we'd not have #17. These things always go in cycles.
LBJ will be gone in a couple of years at the most, and we will retool.

See you when you come back :peace:

Classy post..

I hate to see any active Laker fan leave my favorite Laker board especially when the board is slowly weakening in terms of volume.
But man, if Lebron/Klutch bothers some to this level, I don't blame them one bit for not wanting to be active on the Laker Board.

You will be missed....I'm not a mod or anything but your contributions to this board are much appreciated.

We didn't have a game thread today. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but we haven't had a game thread since the last one SlimShady83 (OP) created for the Magic game.

I don't necessarily agree with a lot of your points in the OP, but I respect your opinions and contributions, and I hope you reconsider.

Exactly. Not sure you can call yourself a true Laker fan if you’re gonna dog on a guy that brought a championship back to this city. I was and still am a die hard Kobe fan, that will never change, but I’ve grown to respect Lebron since he helped us put up another banner. Sure the whole Klutch connection and bringing in Westbrook has thrown a wrench in our plans, but there’s a finger that can be pointed at a number of people, not just Lebron (even though he might be biggest culprit).

In any case it sucks to see this board dying and losing another contributor. Wonder if people have just grown up and moved on or if Lebron really is the reason why people have soured on this team.

Being In a different time zone aka Syd Aus ... Most games for me start like 2:30pm ish some earlier I only ever do Fry/Sat/Sun game threads haha, during the week can't do them work 2 jobs. Most games are almost always over by the time I get home :( - hate watchign games after being played because I know the results already haha

But cheers

same feelings... I am pushing myself so hard since but I lost the passion since LeBron arrived. I was more enthusiastic with the team in 2018 squad which is full with "our" young players.
Yes he did bring a championship and he is one of the best to play this game but I rather see him as an opponent. The man to beat. It all started with this Kobe vs. LeBron rivalary so it is like Larry Bird joining the Lakers from my point of view.
Ownership is also failing no doubt on that but for me personally the biggest problem is seeing the arch enemy in purple and gold.

I've had a few drinks now haha My Friday...

Like I said I will be back Mamba and with vengeance ... I just can't stand this guy to go another season or 2, I'll watch the highlights and box scores that about it :) ....

I love Westbrook I don't like the contract that's on FO not Lebron, but bringing Westbrook here was part of Bron/Ad having a say - you can't deny they didn't have a say in it - sure FO had last say In It. I love the fact WB doing well off the bench and producing :)

Have you forgotten Kobe saying in public that he'll rather play in Pluto than stay with the Lakers because his teammates were very inferior? Then the Lakers tried to honor his request tried to trade him to Chicago then Bryant shut it down because management asked for Deng in return because he didn't want the Lakers get a fair trade.

Jeez, it seems like Lakers former superstars cared a lot more and gave everything for this team. Last time a superstar agreed to a paycut so they can get better players was Magic. Shaq and Kobe didn't do it unlike Duncan and Dirk.
Shaq delayed surgery saying he got injured in company time so he'll get fixed under company time. Then he yells Jerry "Pay me" at Jerry in front of the crowd in Hawaii during a preseason game.
Not saying Lebron is a saint, the dude wants to win, same with other former Lakers superstars before, that is the ultimate Goal isn't it? Should they trade all their picks for average players endangering their future? Absolutely not. But I just hate this false narrative that they zero picks after they make a move right now.

It honestly sounds like more of Kobe fan than a Laker fan tbh. There have been many times when a hated player joins a team then he becomes welcomed, liked and rooted for. Why because the team is bigger than the player and you root for whoever wears the uniform.

I wasn't a big Lebron supporter before, but I'm a fan now and just appreciate his last years. I didn't like Beverly, westbrook or Harrell, but rooted for them when they wore/wear the Laker uniform.

A little dramatic though. If you don't want to post or watch games, no need to announce it lol
