I agree it will pick up steam at Christmas, but if you’re bored now, just wait till March.

NBA seasons are way too long. As are baseball. They'll never do it because of revenue, but the league would be better if they cut it to 62 games and gave more days off in between. Makes you appreciate each game more when there are fewer of them. Also allows for more build up between each game instead of playing every other night for 7 months.

Glad I'm not alone. I've been missing a bunch of games recently due to work and other commitments, but I don't even feel bad about it.

Also ever since Doc Rivers took over, it kinda just tainted how I view the team, which sounds petty, but I low-key loathe the guy.

Anywho, Merry Christmas everyone!

Also, I don't watch the college game at all, but went to Penn-Temple 2 weekends ago at the Palestra. It was amazing. So much more energy and intensity, half-court press D almost every time up the floor. They were scratching and clawing for every play. It was way more fun than I expected, like a whole different game from the pros. Everyone says that but I didn't really believe it until now.

That sounds like an awesome time. I haven't been to an NCAA game since Villanova-Louisville in like 2005ish. But that was at the WFC, so I am sure a game at the Palestra has that cooler, college atmosphere compared to an NBA arena.

Those kids are clawing for their future. NBA Draft, scholarships, playing time, etc. They probably have a bigger love for the game still compared to pros. Also probably a great respect and pressure to their coaches. Pros have their fat paycheck and even if they don't live up to, can still stick around the league for easy money for a decade, all the while making way more money than the coach (in a lot of cases).

I wish I went to a D1 school, because I really don't have an interest in college hoops until March. It's hard to become invested in a team during the season, but I do tend to root for Nova. I might try to get tickets to a Temple or Penn game, however, now that you shared your experience.

I've also missed more Sixers games than normal, been just bad life stuff going on now.

Maybe its our lack of upper level really young athleticism can make it boring sometimes, but I plan on watching more in the future. Maxey being out has alot to do with it, btw forget on the bench stuff he can't run that effectively.

I always think about in games, for me I watch to see something I haven't seen before. Iverson obviously did that for me, Embiid does also.....but the only other person that has a chance to do that on the court on this team for me is Maxey.

The Russian guy who likes German beer is not bored anymore. I’m in. 8-game winning streak is fun.

It’s the first time I’ve watched the game live this season. I had to move my family to Istanbul (because of war). It’s 10.30 pm here. Beers all around lol:)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Bored maybe, but still think that this is the best suited roster for the playoffs in the Embiid era.

Small sample size, with certainly a weak schedule, but since December(roughly the return of Harden and Embiid) we have the 4th best defense and the 5th best offense in the league.

Yeah it's always the roster best suited and then 2nd round exit as usual, I'll believe it when I see it.

Combination of things for me. Getting older, travel, no Zumoff, we have a pretty known product already and underachieved for several years, etc. The regular season was as good as it got for the process teams. Now it just feels like championship or bust with the roster makeup, and they're not on the cusp of that right now. I do find this team pretty entertaining but until they make the playoffs it's just cruise control.

Yep, hard to get invested in a team that looks bound for another 2nd round exit and frankly isn't very much fun to watch play.

Haven't logged in for a while but I have watched just about every game from start to finish

Unless we make some roster changes, I have seen enough from this team to know we aren't a championship team and we aren't going far

Harden has improved from last year but he's not the all NBA Harden we need and we can only ask for so much from a 22 year old Maxey to push this team through

Yeah, the Kate thing is definitely a factor for me watching less this year. Zumoff was such a pleasure doing games that he was a reason himself to tune in, but the combination of a somewhat predictable product and a bad broadcast makes it easier to skip games or just watch the last quarter or half.

I'm just not excited about this team anymore. All the trade pieces are gone and every player is a known quantity now. The Colangelo and Collaborative Effort years were a death knell to the Sixers' championship odds. Morey turned garbage into gold with the Harden trade, but it's not enough.

The only thing that interests me now is a return of the PrOkafor debates. Anyone else think he can become the next Karl Malone?

Besides the short-lived Butler era, I really enjoyed the team of underdogs (even with Ben) that included Cov, Dario, JJ, TJ, etc. There was something really likable about that group. Not that we don't have likable guys at the moment, but the playoff/finals push just feels kind of stale now. Hard to describe.
