Anybody else really looking forward to “The Last of Us”? I’m familiar with the game, but never played it as I just haven’t played video games much at all in 5-6 years. Previews on HBOMax look awesome though!

I haven't played part 2 yet but the first game is excellent if a tad bit overrated. The show looks awful imho. I HATE the casting choices for both mains even though they're good actors. They simply do not fit with the game imho. But I'll watch and give it a chance because HBO mostly delivers

If we do not have a massive lead by the start of this 4th quarter, I am going to blow up..

Played bpoth games. The second was solid for a sequel. The first one was quite simply the finest video game experience I've ever had. Getting wrecked within the first 15 minutes of playing a video game was not on my BINGO card but that's exactly what happened. And if you don't know why I won't spoil it for you. Needless to say, there were multiple times while playing that first game when I just had to put the controller down because everything (the horror and the drama) was a bit too much for me.
As for the series, I have high hopes. Pedro Pascal has quickly become one of the finest actors around. And while Bella Ramsey was not the GOT actor I think everyone wanted for Ellie I think she'll be good. Have loved Anna Torv since Fringe. It helped me that Craig Mazin is attached to this as well. If you haven't seen his Chernobyl series on HBO, I highly recommend.

BostonCouchGM wrote:'Banshees of Inisherin' on HBO Max is brilliant. The guy who wrote and directed it, Martin McDonagh, wrote 'In Bruges', 'Seven Psychopaths' and wrote and directed 'Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri' It's got Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson (both in In Bruges as well) as well as Barry Keoghan
Gave it whirl when it was clear the Celtics weren't coming back.
Holy **** has Colin Farrell evolved, I never really cared for him early in his career, perhaps it was the roles. The North Water is still my favorite Farrell role. That one stuck with me for awhile.

Watched "White Noise" on Netflix last night. Very underwhelming, I was pretty bored after the first half hour or so. It also seemed to be trying way to hard to be quirky. I am not that much of a Noah Baumbach fan, but I have liked a few of his previous movies.

Incomprehensible garbage. That's two hours we won't get back.

I did manage to find an upload of the Ronnie James Dio documentary, however (I can't get Showtime in Australia). It was fantastic, highly recommended especially if you are a fan (like me).

Anyone try Kaleidoscope on Netflix?
Disappointing imo. Plot is about a group of thieves that pulls off a heist. Good cast with Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) and Paz Vega. Intriguing non-linear format where the episodes don't go in any particular order. Well, any order I could discern at least.
I just couldn't get into it. Writing was subpar, characters didn't behave in logical/believable ways, format was confusing. I actually watched 3 episodes and the 3rd one I watched seemed like it wrapped the series up well enough and I'd gotten the point, so I just stopped there.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery was pretty cool. Good cast.

I think it’s meant to be where you can watch the episodes in any order and have it still make sense but the story is a little different to you. Very interesting concept, but sounds like it’s more interesting than successful. Idk who’s going to rewatch a series in a different order if it wasn’t so great the first time just because you came up with a cool idea, so viewers won’t really ever even experience the concept.

Honestly part of me is wondering if I just didn't do it right haha. If someone else watches it and thinks it is worth going back to, let me know.

The Menu is delicious! Recent movie with Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy. Free on HBO now.
Hard to describe lol. Starts out as a dark comedy about a star chef and his fancy restaurant and the customers. Goes absolutely off the rails and turns into suspense/horror.
I thought it was amazing. Highly recommended if it sounds like your thing.
