I've been catching up on some Xavier games..and Jones is really growing on me.

Very high basketball IQ guy, good fundamentals. For a non-PG, he's a very good passer. Good cutter, mid range game with some hostage dribble moves, some floaters, turnaround jumpers in the mid range. Shooting over 40% from 3.

He also has a strong frame. A sturdy 6'6" wing. Pretty good defender.

Just one of those wings who is a solid all round player, and I can see him being a solid role player in the league. Probably not going 1st round - could be a nice pick in the 2nd round.

Obviously can’t project that level but as a player type he seems very Brogdon-ish.

A little bit, yeah. I like the way Jones plays (plays hard, plays tough, plays smart) - gonna be watching him closely rest of this season - although based on Brad's history he ain't taking a 21 year old haha

One of the best 18 yr old draft prospects we've ever seen

I can't remember, does the lottery affect 2nd round picks? I don't think so, but not positive.
HOU pick is definitely precarious. I don't really see anyone but HOU, CHA, DET in that bottom 3 at this point.
Maaayyyybbbeeee SAS?
Hopefully, LAL. :)

Nope. 2nd round is simply the reverse of the regular season standings.

Thanks. We need CHA & DET to ramp up the sucking.

We've talked a little bit about Adama Sanogo. He's growing on me as a guy who could potentially be the next Al Horford.

At 6'9", 245 lbs, he's basically the same measurements as Al. Al is 6'9", 240 lbs. Perhaps Sanogo can slim down a little bit once he's in an NBA-level conditioning program - that way he can get his mobility a little better. That way he can move well enough to play the 4, like Al often does for us.

Sanogo's main weaknesses are not being a great rim protector or lob threat for a big. But we have Rob for that! Sanogo could be a nice compliment to Rob. Especially if Sanogo keeps improving his shooting (41% from 3 this season on 1.6 attempts per game and if he keeps improving his ability to attack/create/score off the dribble.

If he can get a little bit quicker and more switchable defensively, and continue to show the improved shooting stroke, I'll be fully bought in. He's still only 20 yrs old too.

Could be a solid 2nd round pickup..

Al is signed for 2 more years after this one. He could be a mentor for Sanogo and show him the way!

wow, wild game Kansas vs Oklahoma St. Great comeback by Kansas.

A couple of guys on Kansas worth keeping an eye on, Jalen Wilson and Kevin McCullar Jr. Both looked good in this game.

McCullar with a clutch 3 late in the game, and then he made a sick block with like 2 seconds left to seal the win. He also made a big last second defensive play to seal the win last season when he was at Texas tech..

Wilson and McCullar are a couple of dogs.

What do you think about Cedric Coward? Seems like that guy could be a real second round sleeper that fits the modern game.

Yam's teammate on Partizan could be an intriguing 2nd round pick.

Vukcevic is only 19, so could be a draft and stash - or perhaps we bring him over next season..

19 yr olds who are 6'11" and can move like this and do this kind of stuff in a pro basketball game don't grow on trees.

Hal, a good find in Tristan, reminds me of MPJ from Denver,
tall, offensively fluid, and not the best defender. I like the Emoni guy too,
all the Draft sites seem to be burying him, but definitely seems like a proficient NBA scorer with size,
definitely worth a 2nd Round shot, whatever his on/off the court foibles.

Do we even own our 1st Rd pick this year?

They've been in position to own Houston's second round pick most the season. With Detroit's win against GS (lol), the pick reverts to Dallas' at #52 for the moment. Pretty much will be nip and tuck all season if that pick is ~#33 or in the back half of the second.

Edited: not Houston's first round pick

No but we've got 3 2nd round picks. I'm thinking at least 1 or 2 of those picks will get traded.

So we'll end up with anywhere between 1 to 3 2nd round picks. 3 at the moment.

There should be some good talent in the 2nd round.

The next Jaylen Brown?

Even the look on his face after the play is kind of like what JB does after a crazy dunk, how JB will just have this tough, badass look on his face.

Murray is 6'5", 225 lbs (very similar measurements to JB) and is now up to 39% from 3 on 4 attempts per game.

Definitely someone to keep an eye on as a potential 2nd rounder..

If he falls to us in the 2nd round, another guy to keep your eyes on is Mark Mitchell from Duke.

You know Tatum would love adding a Duke guy.

But for real, Mitchell can play. Goes HARD to the rim with the ball.

People on here keep saying they want us to finally get one of those 6'8" - 6'10" wiry, long, athletic, fast, big wings who can defend, hit shots and drive.

Mitchell could be that guy.

Very active on both ends of the floor. High energy. I think there's a good chance he goes late 1st or early 2nd before our pick - but if he's still there, he's definitely an option.

Adama Sanogo looked really good today against a good Creighton team, who has a good 7'1" center.

Sanogo is still only 20 yrs old.

Give him 2 years to be mentored by Al and watch out!

wow. Coleman Hawkins was in a shooting slump but man, he was on fire today!

Hawkins hit 6 threes, was 6/9 from 3. Dudes who can shoot like that, are 6'10", good defender, good passer, those don't grow on trees.
