Washington did a good job tanking starting Wentz.

I tend to like RR, but damn man, dying on the hill with Wentz is embarassing. He is not a starting QB in this league anymore. He's done.

I think THE BEST THING is let Wentz and Howell each get 60/40% practice repetitions.
Start Wentz through Qtr 1 and the half if he’s not turning the ball over.

The worst thing would be Howell in week 16 fails. I’d start Wentz and have Howell ready in relief.

Definitely start Howell in meaningless game vs Dallas

I don’t understand locking in on one QB.

Two QBs can play in the same game.

Now Snyder can sell. New owner, new GM, new coaches, and roster overhaul

Snyder selling this team would actually get me interested again. I haven't watched football in probably 4 years outside of the superbowl.

One of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen to start Wentz. I’m more of an NFL QB than he is at this point. What was RR thinking?

Now that GB is crunching Minny, we MUST start Howell next week.

I've been saying this for 8 **** weeks. Sam **** Howell in my opinion looks like a young Kurt Warner or a shorter Phillip Rivers .

As a Packers fan, I want to thank Ron Riverboat Rivera.

Also, since Monumental Sports & Entertainment bought NBC Sports Washington, will Leonsis have Commanders coverage on it once Comcast NBC Universal isn't operating the network any longer? And will they let frank commentary like this be on display? :D

Looks like there was a post-game interview exchange that indicated Rivera may not have known that a loss would potentially eliminate them, could explain it. But even so, after that first half, you gotta make that switch regardless just so you can look your team in the eye.

(Oh and btw - not knowing your team's exact playoff odds is instantly fireable IMO. Like find your own flight home, for real. Like JP said, if this was any kind of organization, heads could roll this morning because these mistakes were so incredibly bad.)

How could the HC not be aware of this?

Did I notice the upper deck is still not even close to full for such an important game?

All Hail Dan Snyder, another uber rich guy doing a great job of diminishing his assets.

And even with all he's done to ruin the team's legacy, alienate lifelong fans, and drive down attendance - he'll still profit billions from the sale due to how franchise valuations have skyrocketed. Unbelievable. :nonono:

Happy New Year :D

The Wizards might be worth you stopping by with a trade idea. Do stop by MORE OFTEN if you’re so inclined.

If Sam Howell doesn't start this Sunday. Ron should be fired on the spot.

Howell to start. I’m hoping for the best… but I’m guessing he gets creamed by a fast and relentless Dallas defense.

OTOH, if he does turn out to have 1st round talent, it would be a godsend… a starting QB on a rookie salary is pure gold in the NFL.

Here is the good think for the kid. If he loses, oh well he got his feel wet. A loss does not loose him that job next year it's still totally in the cards for him to win it. But if he goes out, puts on a show and beats Dallas in Dallas, saves the team from a loosing record and kills the cow boys hopes of a division tittle. That's his job to loose next year and he's the guy.

It doesn't effect the commander's drafting a QB this year but it certain makes the difference in trading up to get one and taking one in the 4th or 5th round.

Earliest reports on ESPN said Heineke would start and Howell would finish. Later on the ticker said Howell will start.

I wonder if Rivera waffled or he was directly ordered to start Howell?
