Let's be honest. This core won't win anything. Why not try to move Jimmy to a team with a chance to win, get young talent in return, and maybe draft equity?
Jimmy is probably one of the few players we have with a chance to get draft equity in return.

Yea that team is ass lol and I don’t get why everyone is so high on bridges in a potential Jimmy trade. He’s going to peak as a high level role player. If I’m moving Jimmy it’s for a young already established all star player or someone with the clear potential to be an all star. Suns picks with Jimmy will be bottom 3 in the first round

When you’re the best defender in the world and also putting up these numbers offensively……
Name 20 players undoubtedly better than Bam in the league right now

Not a definite list but a legit arguement can be made for any these players ahead of Bam

How the hell is he behind guys like Julius Randle and Bobby Portis (who only plays 26 minutes per game) in RPG on the season? Assist numbers per game are pretty low too for someone who's supposed to be a playmaking maestro

When you're tasked to be the centerpiece of the whole defensive scheme, you may be out of place on some rebounding opportunities.

49th qualified player in blocks at .8 per game though? What an atrocity

i have seen bam being far from the paint to be the center of the defensive scheme that you speak off. he often guard smaller players out there in the perimeter. he should be patrolling the paint in my opinion along with either ORL robinson or demonDayofMourning wrote:When you're tasked to be the centerpiece of the whole defensive scheme, you may be out of place on some rebounding opportunities.

Too small really. And guarding the perimeter so often just keeps him out of place for some of these stats.
I wish we had a pure block/rebound low post presence to back him up. It's really kind of negligent by our mgmt to have left that vital ingredient out of the mix.

It reminds me in a way of when Zo would go hunt for blocks and his rebounding would take a hit. If he focused only on rebounds, Zo would have averaged 15+ a game.
If Bam was able to stay home and guard the post, he would probably have 12 boards and 2 blocks a game.

I know I’m just messing with Bammy. It’s great to see that Adebayos stepping up lately!

So off the 20 you gave:
For sure better than Bam right now:
Luka
Giannis
LeBron
Durant
Jokic
Embiid
Jimmy (Bams been our best player this season but it needs to stay that way for a couple years for him to pass him)
Tatum (I’d say he separated himself this season)
Curry
AD
Then you have these 6:
Booker
Dame
Mitchell
Brown
Morant
SGA
These guys are toss ups. Bam is a far better defender than all of them. SGA is a good defender, brown is solid, Morant is a bottom 10 defender in the league. Those guys are in the debate because they score more but the main reason they score more is because theyre taking anywhere from 4-6 more shots a game than Bam. Let’s go ahead and put 3-4 from that group ahead of Bam for arguments sake.
Too injured to qualify:
PG
Zion
PG is literally always hurt, he can’t stay healthy long enough to tell if he’s still better or not. Zion is elite when he plays but the same issue, dudes been in the league for going on 4 years now and has played a total of like 110 games. Availability is huge imo.
Not better:
Trae
Edwards
Traes the worst defender in the league, his inefficient scoring doesn’t make up for it imo. Edwards lol, he has very high potential though, like him a lot.
I’d say bam is clearly top 20 and if we dug deep enough into it we could argue top 15.

I think Yurtseven being injured has really put a hole in our roster much bigger than anticipated. He’d make a big difference as a rebounder and interior defender. Offensively he has a soft touch and is also a lob threat. I’m really looking forward to seeing him and Bam together, although Spo likely takes a dump on that fantasy.

Raptors blown out at home by the Knicks. They’re definitely selling at the deadline. Do we need to be all in and go for a Siakam trade? Find another piece elsewhere as well and roll with it?
