Nic Claxton went toe to toe with JV last night and held his own. Yall may want to chill on assuming Nic can't handle traditional bigs. Dude is an All NBA defensive level player

I hope people are starting to realize that trading for Turner or Vucevic is a waste of resources so long as Claxton and to a lesser extent Simmons are healthy. Between Claxton's 30ish minutes, Simmons' ability to play some C, plus short small ball stretches, C is covered beyond potentially adding a minimum salaried vet.

Yes I totally agree.

We need a buyout backup C if Claxton is injured or in foul trouble.

Making a big trade makes no sense. Claxton is our guy. And were not playing some other Center with him.

Some of you guys are just out of pocket when it comes to KD.

We have one of the best players in the history of basketball wearing a Nets uniform and youre complaining.

Enjoy it while it lasts. We may never have another guy this good playing for the Brooklyn Nets in our lifetime.

My one thing with KD has been the turnovers and initiating offense. He needs to move the ball and position himself in the midrange for easy scores. I feel like he's making things harder than it should be.

Otherwise, you're right. 100%. This is the first time since he's been here where I'm truly enjoying the moment.

I mean hes not perfect. I think he does bring the ball up too much sometimes when he should defer to Kyrie or Simmons.

I totally enjoyed his second year here. It was only last year that sucked.

Both Kenny and Nash were white guys. Than bringing Ime might be an option. Or any other AA coach who worth a damn.

WTF , if skin color for you is equivalent of how good of a coach we should hire than you dumber than I thought , and I already had you on the lowest tier , doesn’t matter if you White Black Brown or Yellow , just a moron

Pure basketball skills - yes he is one of the best but it ends there

Leading wise - not a leader , not vocal leader , not locker room leader

Ego , Stubborn- under smallest pressure he shows his ego and stubbornness ( ISO plays , turnovers and the worst screaming at other teammates during the games ,eg at Joe last game at TJ , he doesn’t help the team he makes everybody around him worse if we down

So saying this , do I enjoy Durant as a Net ? Hell foc%%ing NO , I respect his pure skill but that’s about it

In my opinion, no near seven footer will ever be able to handle the ball like Marques Haynes. Even Magic averaged 3.9 career turnovers per game. But KD has averaged 3.2 for his career, 2.7 with GS, and 3.5 with us, and it is mentioned so often that it seems to imply a major flaw instead of an occupational hazard of superstars. This year similar bigs: Giannis at 4.1, Embid at 3.9, Doncic at 3.6 are higher. Paul George is the same, and Jokic and Williamson are at 3.4. Historically, James is at 3.5, KD at 3.2, Barkley, Bird, Big Dog, Dr J, and Malone are at 3.1.

But anyone who has watched KD, this year or even since his time here, should least complain about anything in his play. And no coach would ever take the ball out of his hands, and make him a glorified journeyman. (Heck, Marks could have kept Rodions Kurucs.) Had Kerr done that I would never have seen the drive from the back court to three feet from James waiting beyond the three point line for the championship clinching 3 pointer. Even Nash knew better. How about the infamous toe on the line three? It seems to me that he's infinitely more dangerous with the ball in his hands, and more fun to watch.

Having "said" all that, everyone hates turnovers. At one time I would have checked every game played this year. But those days are gone, so I apologize for limiting my research to the last five games. KD has had 16 turnovers. 12 were bad passes. Four were ball handling, but two of those were charges. So it seems the problem is not a ball handling one but passing. I weighed his play here with that on GS and wonder if a point guard like Curry, a veteran team of exceptional talent, and a great coach and offense was the big difference. I have seen some lazy or careless passes but do not believe they are the norm. I suspect the absences of Kyrie and Ben and a new coach and offensive system could take time

So, in effect, I'm not criticizing your frustrations. I merely believe that ball handling is not the problem. I just believe he and the coaches will determine how much is individual and how much is design and execution. They might have already determined that more dangerous passes are worth the costs of the turnovers.

Huh?! Sorry man, totally disagree, our team hasn’t has this much success in the standings since the Jkidd days. This team was a KD toenail and Giannis dirty
Play away from winning it all. 20-21 was the Nets ring and Giannis foot rained in that parade, purposely too. We were still winning games last year around this time before KD’s injury derailed the season along with Kyrie’s refusal to get the jab. So far this year, we are second seed and playing arguably our best basketball of the KD/Kyrie era. No KD means this team would have been subpar just as we were after Kidd left. Let’s face reality, KD’s trade request was the best thing to happen to us because Nash was causing this team to implode and underperform. All KD did was make sure this team gets back to its winning ways and hires a real damn coach. IMO, Udoka should have been hired in 20-21. Vaughn may not be Udoka but we have to accept him and he is doing a fine job now and might I add, he is a student of Popovich. Oh this occasion KD has been proven right and stepped up as a leader to save his own team. Nets ARE KD’s TEAM.

Some of those takes are just dumb.

Is KD the perfect leader?

No.

First year KD lead us by himself to a near NBA Finals if not for his toe. With NO HELP.

Last year he led our completely **** of a team into the 1 seed until he got injured.

And this year he has been the biggest leader of our team.

Yes he demanded a trade which was stupid. So did Kobe Bryant. Doesn't erase all the good things hes done.

Last year he led us to sweep against Boston , with his stubborn ,ego play

That’s what counts , not the trade he demanded

Did Nash call plays? He was the one who threw KD to the wolves. 5 against 1 never works even with MJ. Nash couldn’t adjust and Boston figured out Kyrie. Never mind all that, Ime was the perfect coach to stop KD in his tracks and utterly humiliated him. It’s not happening this year.
