You mean Takemitchy  ?

I think he cries a lot, but he's got balls. Draken is my favorite character though.

They're running an official world wide character popularity poll for the Naruto franchise. The most popular character gets a One Shot comic drawn by the series' creator. Right now The 4th Hokage and Itachi are in the top 2 so far (Naruto is in 4th place), i voted for the 4th Hokage since his backstory has never really been shown so I'd like to read it.

Through the 3rd Doctor now. Bit of a nice change of pace at first, but kind of jarring to see the Doctor trying to be a discount James Bond. I think I like Troughton's take on the character more, but Pertwee isn't exactly bad, at the very least he's trying something new

Companions on the tier list:

Liz - B tier. I think I liked Liz for the short time she was on screen. Always like it when a companion can go toe to toe with the Doctor on an intellectual level, and Liz can do that, but I don't think she really does much outside of that

Jo - A tier. Jo can't keep up with the Doctor the same way that Liz can, but she's much more proactive of a character. She does dumb stuff sometimes, but nothing out of character, her actions make sense to her given who she is and the knowledge she has at the time

Yates/Benton - C tier. These two are listed as companions, and while they appear in most episodes, I can't say they really stand out. At least not until Yates sides with the villains in the dinosaur story and then is more of an actual companion for the planet of spiders. They're both fine, inoffensive

Brigadier - S tier. Top tier companion, has a distinct personality, will clash with the Doctor when it makes sense for his character, is smart enough to keep up for the most part, and has his back through a lot of stuff. If I had to, I'd say Jamie is above the Brig, but both are top tier

Onto the Tom Baker era. It's common consensus he's the best Doctor, so I'm looking forward to it.

Do you have to watch the original Dr. Who seasons from the 60s thru 80s to understand what's going on?

This is an absolutely brutal take down of DC Films

The line about DC having the Rock star in a film that flopped was the finisher. Jesus

That post credit scene though

Oh god no, lol

The renewal starting in 05 is more of a soft reboot than anything. Yeah it'll make references, and the stuff did happen, but there's very little direct continuation

They very much are 2 different shows, and I would definitely recommend skipping the OG stuff and starting with Eccleston's 9th Doctor. I haven't watched past Whittaker's first season, that's just when I fell off the show, but Eccleston through Smith is very good.

Wifey started watching two weeks ago demon slayer. I didn’t get fully into it. I’m not much of fan of the whole demon/zombie troupe in media.

I will say that is prob the best Looking Anime I ever seen by far. By the time the Brother and Sister demon fight i started to watch more serious. The battles of this show is prob the most intense battles I seen in a minute. You can feel the stakes heavily. So I prob continue to watch that unlike JK which I found boring and would never watch after the few episodes I saw.

Honestly the best Anime I seen in a minute which I absolutely love and the writing is excellent is….it’s been on my list since it came out and I just started watching it is. I would actually read the manga of this and I don’t really read manga.

Anyone ever play Nier:Automata? They've got an anime for it that just started

Episode 1 was pretty dope. It looks like they're going to adapt the multiple story paths and endings from the game.

Finished with Bleach

I definitely agree with a lot of the criticisms, I think the Arrancar arc is derivative, the power system is cool but lacks definitive borders which makes it hard to know the stakes, and the pacing definitely suffers after Soul Society

I love the characters, especially the human gang plus Rukia, they're a bunch of idiots but in a loveable way. And the Soul Society arc works great because the captains and lieutenants are all fleshed out, which isn't present in the Arrancar arc or the Thousand Year Blood War arc, most of the villains there are very underdeveloped. Like Burning Man or whatever his name is going up against the 2nd in command Quincy when they were childhood friends is compelling, but it's nowhere near as developed as Komamura and Tosen's friendship, which is why their confrontation hits so much harder

I think Kubo had a lot of great ideas, but didn't have the ability to properly flesh it out for whatever reason, but you can still see it poking through

So now I'm on to Hunter x Hunter. I watched the anime a while ago, so again I know how it ends, but I'm still looking forward to reading it.

I completely agree with this especially the part where you don't mention the Full Bringer Arc, because I hated that arc. One thing worth noting for the Thousand Year Blood War is that there was a lot of controversy surrounding how it ended. I don't recall the details any more, but I do remember believing that they'd rushed Kubo and forced him to end the arc prematurely.

Hunter X Hunter is GOAT-tier for me. I put Yu Yu Hakusho above it but that might be nostalgia.

New Anime Season standouts worth looking at:
Trigun: Stampede....In case yall don't know, Trigun was a CLASSIC anime. It's one of the GOAT's from the era where we only got to catch anime on Sci-fI and Toonami. The OG series is fairly beloved, but it didn't have the most satisfying conclusion. Fast forward to today and I think it's the best CGI animation I've seen in a minute; with a completed manga plot to follow. The first episode lived up to the hype IMO and captured the vibes of the original.

Revenger....This is a samurai anime, where the MC joins a mercenary group. There are plenty of examples of this kinda setup, so we'll see how it goes. But I'm hopeful because the character designs are cool, the weapons are interesting, and I stan a good Samurai shonen/seinen.

Tale of Outcasts...This had the saddest, darkest opening of what I've watched so far. But the two MC's have such an enjoyable connection and there's already a few marks of a plot that will grow and be really good, that I'm hype. An orphan is the only person that can see an immortal demon who has grown tired of living. Since the orphan is all he's got, he visits her nightly. When she's sold off to a sketchy noble, the demon's got to act and demon hunters aren't far behind. It's a REALLY nice set-up, that's pretty common but the execution on episode one got me HYPE.

Handyman Saitou in Another World - Quirky stuff is fun. It's an isekai where the MC was a handyman. This is my light, comedic anime of the season and I've heard good things about the manga. His party is hilarious. A fairy healer who charges by the healing spell; a tank-class female knight with a crush on the MC; and an overpowered sorcerer who's so old that he forgets his spells.

I'm gonna watch these, Blue Lock, and I think I'ma binge Made in Abyss Season 2. I've never felt as emotional as i did watching a certain episode of Made in Abyss S1. It's an incredible anime, but damn is it HEAVY. So I've been putting off the second season, but I can't keep waiting.

Vinland Saga S2 and Tokyo Revengers, I'm just letting the episodes pile up a bit before I revisit. I know i'll enjoy those.

I think the Fullbringer arc was just half-baked

Like, Chad might be my favorite character, so I thought that finally we might get to see him do something since his powers are clearly different from Soul Reapers or Quincies, but nope. Just a short training arc which leads to nothing because Ichigo is given his powers back by the end of it, and doesn't ever use anything from the fullbringers again. That's a lot of what I was talking about when I said you can tell Kubo had a ton of ideas in his head, but never fully realized them, the fullbringers could have been an amazing addition to the world of Bleach, but they're just not

Hunter x Hunter is a bit bittersweet for me. I think it captures a lot of what I love about One Piece, the wacky world and loveable characters with a well-executed power system, plus it has what might be my favorite friendship/rivalry in Gon/Killua, but where it suffers is both that its art is inconsistent and it's constantly going on hiatus because the author has health issues.

DOT, the anime was basically a 1 for 1 adaptation of the manga, so if you want to read what happens after the anime ends, start at Chapter #340 which is the beginning of The Dark Continent Expedition Arc and The Succession War. As you can expect, this is a drastic departure from the previous stories, as the series dips heavily into political intrigue on top of tying up some loose ends.

Fun fact regarding Bleach, The Fullbringer Arc/Lost Shinigami Agent Arc is heavily inspired by The Chapter Black Saga of Yu Yu Hakusho. Same premise for the most part, Ichigo/Yusuke has to battle with an evil version of himself.

Bleach imo was at its apex during the Substitute Shinigami Agent and Soul Society Arcs. After that, I felt like Kubo was literally writing Bleach by the seat of his pants. Not that it was bad per say, but the ideas just weren't hitting like they did initially and there were so many characters coming in and out that a lot of development was stifled.

The manga version of Thousand Year Blood War was rushed to its ending due to editorial pressure to end Bleach if i recall, due to declining sales and ratings.

I need to check out Tale of Outcasts. I dunno if i can handle two sad anime series in one season, I still need to catch up on To Your Eternity, which is so gut wrenching i had to quit in the middle of season 1.

Were you watching Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury? The final two episodes were awesome.

It might have been one of the best endings to a Gundam season that I can recall. My jaw was on the floor the entire episode
