I'm imagining a *role* like Taurean Prince. Intense 3/4 off the bench who probably doesn't become a starting caliber player but fits a rotation. Could easily not be a rotation player, but I like him even though I'm a bit underwhelmed.

i really like Walsh but learned my lesson with guys like Scottie Lewis and Matisse Thybulle, doesn't matter your athletic profile and defensive potential if you can't provide anything consistently offensively.

not classifying Walsh in that category yet, and I LOVE his physical profile for the NBA, but unfortunately in today's NBA it's offense over everything else and as a wing you need to at least knock down 3s at + clip to be able to see the court consistently unless you're like the second coming of Tony Allen or something and even then, I don't know if Tony Allen would've been allowed to develop in today's NBA vs. 15 yrs ago.

tldr: today's NBA sucks

What's funny is he doesn't look like a huge outlier athlete in college to me, and I think that gap narrows in the NBA. Still a + athlete, for sure. Part of that might be seeing him next to his teammates, though

At least I'm not the only one who's underwhelmed by him most of the time. It's like.. I see the activity on defense and the hustle, but I'm not sure what he can contribute to warrant being FRP. I feel these types go in the second round. But if he can manage to become a respectable shooter (even corner) then I can see something there.

I think he's still a late first with his length, and I believe the shot will come around. But I thought late lotto at the beginning of the year. He showed some passing and playmaking ability in high school and some of that didn't translate. Maybe it's there at this level and there are just better options on Arkansas, but I kind of think the competition jump meant that part of his game couldn't really translate.

Sorry but in my opinion there’s no way Walsh is an FRP. He would need to be the best defender in the nation to be an FRP given he’ll be a black hole on offense in the NBA. And I’m confused as to why you believe that his shot will come around when there’s absolutely no evidence of that happening?

He's a 74% freethrow shooter and I don't think his mechanics are completely broken. Lots of players have gone from bad shooters to start their career to pretty decent ones, and if I was going to bet on someone it would be a guy whose mechanics are alright. Certainly, a lot of work to be done, but he is not Michael Kidd-Ghilcrist, Ronnie Brewer, or Matisse Thybulle level bad in terms of mechanics. He might go second round, but I don't see why a team in the 24-30 range would be making a huge mistake by taking him.

Scheyer is also way over his head coaching a blue blood right after Coach K.

The dude has another year max. This is embarassing given the talent he has.

Scheyer is a mess, but so is this roster. Its really a failure on all levels at the moment.

Lively doesnt know how to play basketball. Flip has fallen back down to earth. Proctor cant hit an open jumper to save his life and my god that kid has no first step at all. Whitehead is showing flashes but the dude is so out of shape, its not even funny. Watch him when he is out there for more than 5 minutes at a time, he is hunched over and just gassed. Him in the 2nd half today was pathetic to watch (not just talking about the missed dunk).

Then toss on top of that Scheyer looks lost out there. Its a pretty rough combination to watch at the moment.

this is the strangest season regarding prospects in maybe forever. The best players aren't playing in college and for a variety of reasons the highly touted guys IN college aren't showing out. Hopefully the tournament allows some of the cream to rise to the top. I will say that there appears to be more returning players than normal who have taken that next step and really raised their draft stock and they'll dominate the back half of the first round.

Not gonna start a Micah Handlogten thread...but he's putting up bonkers blocks/rebounds as a Freshman at Marshall. Had a 19/19/5 game against Coastal Carolina on Friday. Maybe some Walker Kessler vibes. Son of former NBA player Ben Handlogten.

I think we will start hearing a lot more. It’s been a trend. I don’t see him turning it around either.

He wont get fired, they just signed him to like a 10 year deal. If anything there will have to be a mutual agreement to lower his UK's buyout (somewhere around 50+ mil). My guess is Texas might have to come in and offer a huge deal and that might be what both sides need to exit peacefully.

Texas has unlimited money especially since they’re heading to the SEC. That would be a “splash” hire and I can see some of their boosters covering the buyout.

If Cal leaves Kentucky - I think UK would throw the bank at Jay Wright

Ya I do think Cal ends up at Texas. All sides just need to come to an agreement where that UK contract gets figured out. Im curious if Jay Wright will go there or if he will try NBA before he gets too old.

What level of defenders do we see the Thompson twins being?
