RoCo should never be glued to the bench again. Lue should be fired for that alone.

He is starting to do it with quickness again, not just strength like earlier in the year.

RoCo doing his all around thing too.

With about 4-5 minutes left I just wanted the 10 point lead to hold going into the half!

i think it's extremely important to note just how solid most of our possessions have been. people don't force shots, not really an iso-centric offense, the RIGHT people are getting the shots, etc. etc.

it's the kind of effect that is so obvious with the right guys on the court.

Great first half. The lineup with Wall gave up the lead but fought hard to get it back. Wall is clearly trying to do too much instead of letting it come to him.
Just having a healthy Batum out there is really comforting.

Defense has been excellent and very active as well. Would be blowing them out even more without the phantom calls Dallas got to go to the line on most of those free throws. Just glad the Clippers kept their composure and didn't let the refs get to them too much.

An All-Forward Lineup

Post#49 » by Wammy Giveaway » Wed Jan 11, 2023 4:48 am

No point guards or centers. Just small forwards and power forwards, with a lot of pretending.

Also to note, this is Tyronn Lue's first ever technical foul as coach of the Clippers. Still no ejections, and I'm afraid we'll never get one.

Regardless, I'm calling it. Clippers automatically win tonight's game. Their 6-game losing streak has been snapped.

What we all were wondering as to why RoCo was being stapled to the bench.

i'll also add that this all goes away if lue lets paul george try to be the main handler again. which is, you know, more likely than it is not.

We have been good at swinging the ball around and making the extra passes, Norm has gotten some great looks that way.

With a spry Kawhi, all we got to do much of the time is get it to him in the high post or wing. He’ll create an open look or draw attention and swing the ball. No need for anyone else to iso too much.

Best half of basketball in a very long time. Lots of scoring in the paint, not too many 3s chucked without ball movement. Powell was a beast in the 2nd and Kawhi making it look easy out there like the old days. Defensively I don't got much to complaint. The #1 scorer in the league "only" scored 12 and 2 asst. I thought our double team worked well.

I think that tendency goes down with Kawhi is on the floor, especially if he can start looking like this going forward.

Funny thing is that I don’t think we played absolutely out of our minds or anything. But super solid all around both sides of the floor.

agree

forgot to add, because it was originally why i posted to begin with - kawhi was extremely aware of the game situation. a simple score would have put the lead up to a near insurmountable number. but taking a bad shot that might potentially result in any score for dallas would have been extremely bad and breathed new life into their team. so he does the simple, most obvious, and smartest thing: he takes the ball and takes a quality jumper and scores.

this team really is all about enabling kawhi and everything else is secondary.

for sure and my hope is that lue doesn't stagger them all that often, so this issue is mitigated. ideally he just lets mann move ahead of him on the pecking order but again, i doubt that.

I want to celebrate so bad due to how much of a breath of fresh air this game has been so far... but alas, I'm still holding my breath until the clock hits 0 in the fourth quarter. Still plenty of time left for Lue to screw this up.

At very least, this needs to be the game that gets Reggie officially glued to the bench from here on out. We are clearly a better team without him.
