Bamba vs Moe

Post#1 » by mattdelray1220 » Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:04 pm

I am so torn on this one. It is fairly obvious WCJ is the better talent of the 3 and deserves his 30+min as the starter.

It seems like the team has chosen Moe over Bamba. I guess they would know best? I have kind of liked what I have seen from Bamba this year. He has obviously not been what we thought he would be but I think for 15+min a game he is super solid and definitely better on the defensive end then Moe. Moe and Franz in the 2nd unit has been great though. They really work well together.

I am fairly certain Ross is about to get dealt. Maybe they are holding Bamba back so that other teams may be intrigued on the "what if" with him?

Bamba is going to be traded soon, so it doesn't matter.

Mo is on a small contract and his brother is here. Bamba is going to want big man money. I hope we can extract value moving him. He might be good on another team with a better coach.

Bamba has probably a better trade value than MoW so yeah... trade him while he has value.

It's an interesting consideration. Bamba has a terrific skillset and is blessed physically but doesn't put it together consistently. Moritz is a terrific screener, brings energy and passion, communicates well on defense, is good for team chemistry, and can be surprisingly impactful on offense. I take Moritz over Bamba pretty easily.

Bol, Isaac, and Moritz are an intriguing discussion for rotation minutes. Still might be one big too many.

Honestly I could do without both.... Fairly certain bamba is outta here and moe will probably be kept around to keep Franz happy... I think we need a bruiser/dog playing behind Carter. Need defense and rebounds from that spot that we're not get from bamba or Wagner

Agree. We need someone big amd plays big. We made Nurkic look like an all-star. We need someone to throw against the Embiid, Jokic, etc of the world. Also someone where the other teams think twice before driving to the rim because they know wcj doesnt really block shots

Wagner.

Orlando can get more for Bamba per value and more from Moe on the court.

Eeny, meeny, miny, Mo or Bamba.

Bamba has talent but Mo is a basketball player.

I suspect Bamba will be traded in the next month and I won't shed a tear when that happens.

But if he isn't, believe it or not, I'd play him over Moritz.

So why is coach Mos benching Bamba right now?

Bamba has more trade value.
We know for fact that nba teams can't let go notion that draft hype was just hype.

And Mortiz was already bounced around 4 teams ( Wizards, Lakers, Magic, Celtics) and struggled to find spot in past.

Stat vise, this is best Bamba has ever been. yet we don't play him. Same with RJ Hampton for similar reasons. Sometimes writing is just on the wall.

Moe Wagner will stay.

Bamba is mercurial (at best), his trade value is higher and Moe plays hard, gets paid nothing and if nothing else is worth keeping around just to keep Franz happy.

It's a shame because of all the players on the roster, the best version of Bamba is the best fit at the 5 for Paolo and Franz, IMO. I just don't think he will get there in Orlando.

I'm on team Mo buckets over Bumba, he's cheap, keeps our best player (his brother) happy and unlike bamba you'll notice when he's on the floor if you don't believe me just ask Luka or Detroit.

everyone has value just depends on how valuable they are is subjective.

I’d be happy to get 2 2nds for Bamba hahaha

Trick with Bamba's value is his second year non guaranteed status.
Basically, any potential suitor can do nothing and wait until Magic decline option on next year, he is UFA and the can sign him on less money and more years ( some 3 years $15M for example).

But imo teams still view him as "potential" and maybe belive they can work with him into , if nothing else ,servicable backup.

Where with Mortiz, since he was part of several teams and is bit older, there is more " offensive production, goofy bad roster" outlook ( kind a how non Spurs fans probably view Keita Bates-Diop) .

I don't know what's "fair" trade for them, tbh.
