Peak only, which trio would you rather have?

If Jordan can effectively guard Curry then this is pretty one sided, IMO. If not, more to think about.

I don't think Jordan is going to want to run through screens for 35-40 minutes.

He loved to sit back, read passing lanes and gamble that those passing lanes led to a fast break.

I do not see this as any sort of close comparison: the defensive gulf is massive, and Davis and Curry are basically the perfect teammates for Lebron.

Replace Durant with Garnett and the conversation becomes much more interesting. It is about diminishing returns. Right now one is skewed far too heavily toward offence, while the other team has a strong defensive base without sacrificing much offensively to do that.

This isn't close. Curry/LeBron/Davis big time; while Curry is an average defender here, particularly with the matchups, peak LeBron and peak Davis defensively is disgusting.

Interesting comparison, but MJ is a level above all other players here, so I'm going with his team.

This is pretty much exactly as I see it and on top of that I don't think a KD/MJ pairing is that optimal while I don't think Jokic would be used to his full capabilities playing with them. Either trio should decimate the league but the LeBron team is built better.

Don't you think MJ and KD are Murray and MPJ in super steroids?

Not really. I mean at face value you could say they are but is it a given that the offense would run the optimal way we think it should? I'm not so sure of that. With team a its pretty obvious how it would work. With team b its not only how its run but MJ's need to be the big dog and how that works playing alongside perhaps the second best wing iso scorer of all time. Ultimately though the only difference I see is one team winning a few more rs games and probably going 16-0 in the playoffs compared to 16-1 or 2.

He does as the third best player on his team who can go all out on defense and be a benefactor of all-time gravity of a James/Curry screen-roll game. Even with non-shooters and generally underwhelming players outside of James, he scored well at the basket. If you made this peak KG it would favor the Curry/James team even more.

That’s because we view it so differently:) For one I voted Jordan team so AD was not good enough for me, and for two I don’t think peak KG was better than peak bubble AD in the playoffs.

So you see peak AD as better than peak KG, yet you still don’t think he belongs in this conversation as a third best player on the team that fits seamlessly with James and Curry?

Team a. On a pure talent basis the defensive gap is colossal and team a has a signifcant advantage in terms of synergy as well.

I also think Jordan, Durant, Jokic fit seamlessly. To me, Jordan > LBJ, Jokic ~ Curry, so I need someone better than peak KD.
