Re: Bamba vs Moe
Bamba, RJ Hampton and T Ross, I think would be an attractive package for some team. If Mo could keep up with defensive rotations he'd be a keeper even despite his inconsistent offense. Sadly I think he has a very low bball iq. Moe just completely out hustles him and rotates extremely well.

The only one that might have Value there is TRoss.
Bamba is pretty much just hoping if there is still potential. His +1 year contract is what makes his attractive. Cause you can basically give him a tryout this year after trading for him. But at what cost?
Tross I believe is an expiring? Which is pretty much not much value anymore. We cant even get a good value for him last year, and he wasnt expiring then. But his shooting an dynamic scoring outburst might hold some sort of value for a competing team
Then you have Hampton. I mean, for a re-building team, that chose Cole Anthony over him, i think that says a lot about RJ. And you wont have control over where he goes the following year. So what kind of asset is a team willing to give when they can just wait till the offseason to acquire him without giving anything.

Re: Bamba vs Moe
Whenever you're looking at draftees, trade candidates or FA pickups, itd be useful to keep the Mo vs Moe situation in mind.
Moe has one predetermined edge over Bamba and one only.
Franz' presence on the team.
In all other respects, Bamba is taller, more athletic, longer wingspan, better shooter, better suited physically to many of the tasks a center is needed for.
And yet, Moe Wagner is beating Bamba night after night to the minutes. Why? Because Wagner wants it more. Wagner is prepared to work where Bamba isn't. Wagner is ready to fight for his team. Wagner knows he has one foot out the door of the NBA and his brother and his work ethic are keeping him with a contract at the one team where he has a legit chance.
Mo is coasting on his ability and doesn't even see the huge trapdoor in his path that one day soon he'll fall through.
Athleticism is important. But beware the player who knows that he's getting in the front door of the NBA because he's an athlete. These guys can kill a rebuild or team chemistry.
The worker bees who play hard every night and put the team first will win out. With only 5 on the floor passengers are a death sentence.
Always pick guys with focus and fight. Moe Wagner in theory shouldn't have a prayer at backup big minutes. It's the laziness of his far superior team-mate and his own drive that's keeping him playing.

He has a knack for getting into the head of the opposing player.
And he can play dirty when necessary.
Moe Wagner will be probably by played off the floor by any half-decent team in the playoffs due to his defense. He hustles and tries hard on this end is just too slow and in the playoffs teams gameplan and ruthlessly take advantage of suck weaknesses.
