Yea, despite previous denials, I think its obvious Vince is making all decisions at this point.

They'll balk at first until the new Saudi check comes in.

WWE may never be the same again if reports are true. Wonder if there is a talent walkout.

The Twitter reaction is ridiculous. The Saudi Arabians want to buy company's to modernize the perception of their government and to bring new, clean, better PR perception based companies into the fold to be the face of their business dealings. They are not going to force any of their countries views on these companies. It will be business as usual on that front. They just want to own **** to put out front. They will pump money into it, the wrestlers will get paid more, maybe get insurance, blah blah blah. I doubt any one walks out right.
Like Twitter thinks this will spell the end. It won't. The networks don't care, they do business with S.A. as is. The brand deals and spouncers won't care they sell their **** in Saudi Arabia too. Social networks won't care. It will be just like the UFC. The own will front the money the team. Nick and HHH will run the thing. Vince will ride off with 32 percent of probably 5-8 billion and that will be that.

I agree that there wouldn’t be many walkouts. I also think the US product would be similar to what it was has been.
I do see one very big possible defection through- Sami Zayn. Syria and SA have major issues and those issues have prevented Zayn from having anything to do with the Saudi shows. He won’t be working for Saudis imo.
I hate the Saudi shows because it’s free PR for terrible people. Now the whole company will be that.

Here is the thing people really need to understand. You have a 10 percent chance of driving around with S.A. oil in your car. They own stakes in tons of things.heatwillbeback wrote:gambitx777 wrote:The Twitter reaction is ridiculous. "The PIF has 38% stake in Posco Engineering & Construction Co., a 5% stake in Uber (for $3.5 billion), and a 5% stake in the video game companies Capcom and Nexon (for $1 billion). In March 2016, it was announced that ownership of Saudi Aramco would be transferred to the PIF and that the Kingdom will seek to list 5 percent of Aramco's shares by 2017. PIF owns Qiddiya, spearheads the Red Sea Project for luxury beach resorts, and owns the closed joint-stock company named Neom. PIF owns a 5.7% stake (valued at $500 million) in concert distributor Live Nation. In 2020, PIF purchased minority stakes in major U.S. companies including Boeing, Facebook and Citigroup. PIF disclosed a $713.7 million stake in Boeing, around $522 million in Citigroup, a $522 million stake in Facebook, a $495.8 million stake in Disney and a $487.6 million stake in Bank of America. It also disclosed a small stake in Berkshire Hathaway. PIF also disclosed an $827.7 million stake in oil company BP. In 2020, PIF purchased a 2.32% stake (valued at $1.5 billion) in India's Jio Platforms, and reduced its holdings in US stocks to $7 billion from $10.1 billion in the third quarter. It instead left a stake of $2.7 billion in Uber. In 2021, they purchased stakes in the American video game companies Electronic Arts, Take-Two Interactive, and Activision Blizzard. In May 2022, they purchased a 5% stake in the Japanese video game company Nintendo, and the following month, an 8% stake in Embracer Group with a $1 billion investment."
So unless we are gonna stop playing Pokemon, playing street fighter, playing overwatch, flying on air plans, calling Ubers, watching Disney plus, using half the ATMs in America, using Facebook and Instagram, then we need to stop saying we are gonna stop watching WWE.
I have suspicion that they aren't buying the entire company. I think maybe they are gonna buy most of it with the exception of vonces shares then take it private, have Vince be the spear head for TV deals and let Nick HHH and the gang run day to day.

I truly doubt Vince is just going to take the money and retire after a sale. His endgame here is to take back creative control of the product. Sounds like a silly goal to move all these mountains for, but if you've followed Vince long enough you have an idea of his tendencies. Everything that we know about Vince--his work ethic, his love for the creative process--tells us that this ends with Vince back in gorilla and he fully plans to work until he drops dead, not retire with his billions. I would think any sale is contingent on him staying on as chairman.

Looks like the Saudi sale is fake news for now. WON says they want to sell by mid 2023. Nick Khan met with Disney/ESPN at the college championship game.

Man I was going to tune in because of the generations of Anaoi acknowledgement ceremony. No interest in this alternative.

While I agree, not sure about on this segment. It depends on whether or not the Rock was available to show up. Without the Rock, there wasn't really a point in the every generation segment. The Sami trial was very good

Eh, the Bloodline, Sami Trial was a really good segment, and the subsequent tag match was good as well. It was a good start to the show. Made you completely forget they trotted Hulk Hogan out there.
Speaking of which did anyone else feel that was totally contrived? You bring Hogan out there to start the show talking about “30 years ago we started this thing” and it’s like dude in 1993 you had one foot out the door and were barely on TV iirc. Then you jumped ship to WCW and started a direct competition with Raw shortly there after lol Raw wasn’t his era, I don’t associate him with it at all.

Re: WWE General Discussion III: Bigger! Better! Badder!
I think WWE is making a big mistake telegraphing Cody winning the rumble. It almost makes me think they'll swerve.
Cody walking back in and getting that spot is an easy way to get fans to turn on him. Ironically, too much Cody is what made AEW fans, who previously treated him like a wrestling god, turn on him.
It's so clearly Sami's spot as is, and the fans are going to be even more with him when they pull the trigger on the Bloodline turning on him. I can see the hardcore mania crowd saying F this and going over the top for Roman just to spite the booking, and because Roman is quite simply over.
It really might do Cody a disservice to his resurgence. Theres plenty of time to get to a world title run and I think theres plenty of meat on the bone with him and Rollins and so many other guys. Just feels like they may be missing the boat here. If you pull the trigger your best case is you walk away with a new main event star. If you hold off and let Sami have his moment you have two.
My booking would be the Bloodline turns on Sami and hes so dejected he wants to retire. KO snaps him out of it and becomes his Apollo Creed in Rocky 3 helping him vanquish the final boss. Eventually the monster inside KO cant take it. Have him win MITB and destroy Sami the way he did in their NXT run. Now you have the world title program those two deserve that's also a blood feud.

Well if rock isn't coming back. Roman need something to do night two. it's clear this blow off need to be huge and you don't have much else that can legit main even another night right now. So, what do you do other than pull Ronan double ?jakecronus8 wrote:I think WWE is making a big mistake telegraphing Cody winning the rumble. It almost makes me think they'll swerve.

I think there are a couple ways to skin that cat.
So you have Cody win the rumble. He challenges Roman not for the red or blue belts but for the big gold belt his dad had never won balabla blah and He faces Ronan night one. Sammy accidentally costs Roman the match after. He geabbs a mic and drops a promo on Sammy and how he knew he was a snak and how now he faces him tomorrow night looser leaves the smack down for the last remaining tittle. Through the show you have people talking to Sammy the blood line telling him to take the beating take a dive and beg for forgiveness other stars telling him to break free. Leasing to Sammy making his choice Roman tells him to bow for the pin Sammy rolls him up in defiance and boom match Sammy wins crowd explodes. You get Cody's moment and Sammy's
Options two Sammy screws Cody out of the rumble leading to an angle that has Cody trying to get into the match. Leads to a. Triple threat ladder match for both belts. Roman brings out a cool new universal belt with black red and blue on it. Cody brings out the gold belt and hangs it high with the universal tittles and goes in taking that one home. Roman turns on Sammy after they two on one Cody just to prove a point then Cody and Sammy put Roman down they end up on the ladder Roman takes out both ladders and Cody and Sammy take one belt each. Sammy and Cody have their moments and Roman is left broken because he and no one's else lost those belts not even by pin but by his own pride.
