Korver, promoted after spending months as the franchise's director of player affairs and development, will play a significant role in a reshaped front office under general manager Landry Fields.

After Travis Schlenk recently stepped down as president of basketball operations, Fields has made several staff changes, and elevating Korver had been one of his immediate priorities, sources said. The Hawks have been active in trade discussions, especially around forward John Collins, sources said.

Korver, who worked with the Brooklyn Nets in player development for the 2021-22 season, will continue to play a significant role in the Hawks' player development strategies.
