Barnes really better than OG?

I feel like guys like Simmons and other Americans see the Raptors as a source of talent to make other teams better. They don't look into or care how it affects the Raps.

I listened to the podcast and Simmons admitted that he’s higher on Keegan Murray (who’s the actual prize for the Raptors) than most and lower on OG than most. And it was Lowe that brought up that some basketball person had said the Kings should go after OG while Simmons was originally trying to get the Kangz to go after Paul George.

Right now, I see Keegan obviously not as good on defense but offense is the same.

And he plays the same position as barnes and pascal

Yeah I don’t really see how getting Murray would be anything other than a we’re going to rebuild around Barnes move. You have the same problem in the long run that Barnes, Siakim and Murray all play the same two positions and Barnes #2 also plays the same position. So you’ve really added to the forward glut while losing out on all NBA defense with better shooting.

The numbers are the numbers, and OG has better stats in every category other than TO's + FG%. Not sure how that relates to PER, but I agree that it was a bad trade proposal in the first place. I also think OG is a better two way player than Harrison Barnes (which the numbers support), but I'm not here to convince anyone.

Who gives a flying **** about Barnes.

Trent/Scottie/Keegan is a nice trio to build around..and very cheap at the moment.

Only issue and, here we are again; it doesn’t line up with Pascal and his “prime”at the moment. Maybe it does in 3-4 years but will Pascal ride it out ? Does Pascal net you some more young talent to build with.

Because ATL matter of factly said Barnes > OG (before backtracking slightly), so several of us were surprised. I agree Trent + Scottie + Keegan is a nice young core (and would be the point of the trade), but it's all a moot point since it won't happen

this season Boucher playing worse on 12M for 3 guaranteed years - let's dump his contract for cap space

I will take those hypothetical trade offers for Boucher that return a FRP now. He's been pretty disappointing.

Oh yeah forgot I read that at the start of the thread. No point in debating that though, since it’s rubbish.

Would you entertain Pascal instead if they added a pick or two ? They don’t have much flexibility with draft capital but just a thought. Maybe we can flip Harrison to a 3rd team for another expiring and late pick.

Barnes/Trent/Murray/OG/Precious would be super entertaining. Not sure about the win column though. In my scenario here , we’d walk away with two or three more 1st rounders, plus still have all of our own.

Right, so a rival suggested that the Kings should get better? No, they thought of a stupid trade for the Kings to make, and one that only marginally is beneficial to the Raptors.

OG for Holmes and Murray makes more sense. If they are truly enamoured with OG.

I've been saying all along that I don't understand trading OG while keeping Siakam and/or FVV. However, I can ***sort of*** understand the Raptors trading OG and/or GTJ like the Blazers did CJ in order to try again with Siakam. Still wouldn't be my preference. It would just totally suck to see the Raptors sell off OG or Trent to give our "core" another shot after both A) holding onto Boucher + Flynn for so long and B) not using our once less valuable picks to really invest in our core earlier.

I'd honestly target the Pelicans if we're looking at a big trade involving Siakam and Fvv for example.

Would love Dyson, H Jones, Jaxson Hayes or Ingram combo I love their team tbh.

Top trade partners would be Pelicans, Suns, Sixers..Maxey lol?, blazers with Simmons etc, who are are realistic teams.

I can't help but wonder if it'd be better to talk to the kind of teams who have been hoping to be relevant for a while... teams like the Kings, Hornets, Magic, or Pistons. I haven't paid much attention to Lamelo Ball this year. If he's still worth building around, I'd much rather overpay for a young guy like him than make more of a lateral move Ingram - who has felt pretty difficult to build around these last few years. A core of OG, Barnes, and Ball sounds like a trio any elite scorer would absolutely love to play with if they continue to develop.

The more I think about it, the more obvious it becomes that we might need to trade Siakam.

You know the type of franchises that give players who aren’t top 10 caliber players ? Mid ones like the Washington Wizards or Portland Trailblazers.

Love how much he’s improved, he’s the epitome of what it means to be a Toronto Raptor but he might of priced us out with his stats.
