That's why I take the advice here with a grain of salt.
Oh yes management has always nailed it with Bruno, Delon, DeMarre etc...fun times.
That's why people take your posts with even less than that.

Fred choosing not to have surgery / fix over last summer altered the trajectory of this franchise.

Whoa, you're saying he needs surgery on his back? Where are you getting this from? Usually if you need back surgery you can't really play at all, it's that bad.
Anyway, still one of the better players on the team with a lot of players having down years, so unless they all need surgeries, I'm guessing that this is just more nonsense out of this corner.

VanVleet (hip/knee) told reporters Friday that he believes his lingering injuries from the season will be resolved "fairly quickly" with some rest and treatment, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports[/img]

So what are you saying, that he didn't rest or treat his injuries from last year? There's nothing about needing surgery. He's been missing games with back issues, and I guess it's possible he could need surgery, but usually when it's that bad you can't even properly let alone run around the court more than any other NBA player.

Re: Tank World Order (10.0) The Empire Strikes Back
This is my understanding. Fred got hurt around Jan-Feb 2022. He played with a lingering injury for the 2nd half of 2021/2022 season, ending with a hip injury vs PHI 1st round playoffs. Noting that he can reach free agency in summer of 2023 (by declining a underpaid 23M player option for 2023/2024), Fred knew having a good 2022/2023 season is important to get as much money as possible in his FA contract summer 2023.
Having a major surgery before 2022/2023 season and the unknowns of performing after surgery recovery would hamper his leverage in getting that big new contract. With this in mind, Fred chose to rehab his lingering injury / injuries (from Jan-Feb 2022) over the summer of 2022, betting that he can manage his health and replicate his All-Star campaign. The rest is history, so I won't repeat it.
My initial post postulates that had Fred chosen to have surgery and fix the root of all that ails him, over the summer 2022, he might have been out rehabbing for a big chunk of the 1st half of this season. In which case, we would have won more games, and right now would be in a 6-8th seed position, with a healthy FVV coming back as reinforcement for the 2nd half of this season (with a soft schedule as well). Then Masai absolutely would not entertain selling anyone, and we would be making a push for playoffs this season. How would that timeline look over next several years? I don't know, but certainly a very different trajectory from current.

If he needed a major surgery like that you think he would believe he could manage his body well enough to put up all-star numbers? It doesn't make sense to me.
I'm also skeptical that Fred sitting would have resulted in more wins in the first half, unless we assume that Trent, OG, Boucher, Precious were shooting poorly because of Fred and that Scottie's sophomore slump or insignificant progression is all because of him.
It's tough to sliding doors this stuff.

Lord knows what it is but cervical spondylosis is a pretty common issue in athletes with back issue. And yes, sometimes rest is the answer and sometimes surgery is the answer.

Re: Tank World Order (10.0) The Empire Strikes Back
Bulls just won against the Warriors, Warriors play the Wizards tomorrow and the Warriors commentators said Klay likely won’t play because it’s a back to back for them. Could be a good for us in the battle of the tanks.
