With Giddey, I just don't see him having a high ceiling. He's an incredibly smart player but he's a poor athlete. I also don't see Holmgren being an impact player in this league either. Too frail and just not athletic enough. With OKC they probably wouldn't even do that because they are still years away from competing.

i'm just looking at best return/potential trading partners which would make sense for us and them IF we decide to trade him.

Interesting that CJ said "players" (plural), not just one dude.

With some build up to this trade deadline, it'd be a little deflating if we end up mostly staying pat except for trading player X for cash considerations .

One of OG/Trent/Fred.

My guess is that it's either OG or Fred. Leaning towards OG.

Trent doesn't seem like the type to complain. And truthfully, he has a better chance of securing a bigger contract if he plays with us as opposed to NOP where he'd get less touches.

i took it to say he "heard" there may be rumblings of players unhappy, not that he knows that there are players unhappy for certain.

we have 3 players that are looking for their next deal - fred + gtj + og.

fred gets the mins but he said his role has been reduced.
gtj always seemed like a guy ready to leave.
og rumors (that he denied) last summer that he wanted a bigger role.

so IF there's any players unhappy, then it's probably one or more of those 3.

siakam seems like a guy that loves the team and already got paid huge and knows he's gonna get another big deal.

scottie's on a rookie deal so he doesn't qualify.

For what it’s worth, the two guys on the team that he’s actually friends with are fred and Gary. Fred has spoken about being unhappy with his role, so I think he’s a good candidate.

The only reason I don’t think it’s OG is because he’s become really good friends with Scottie. I think it’s Gary and Fred personally.

don't worry even if it's OG, we can smooth it out by trading Fred and GTJ and making OG the #2/3

Amazing trade for Minnesota if true.

how so? taking on a washed up lowry for an extra year for 30M. Its much better for Miami as it gets them off the hook for one of the worst contracts in the league right now. I suppose the twolves might be desperate enough to do it to get an extra couple of wins.

Not sure how much of Russell you’ve seen but this move is addition by subtraction. Washed up Lowry is a more impactful defender than Russell and he knows how to actually run an offence. Plus he’s only an extra year of salary. For a team that’s near the cap anyway

I just don't see OG being a good high usage 2/3 option. He's turnover prone has an awkward dribble style and just doesn't have the natural feel to be a scorer. If OG is stuck on being a high usage player I don't mind trading him.

I really hope the disgruntled players CJ is referring too is FVV/GTJ, and not OG/Scotty.

I want OG/Scotty to be here for a long long time..

What is fvv upset over? He's shooting 37% from the field and can't beat anyone off the dribble, he should be upset with himself.

I honestly think the front office never imagined that this team could be this bad when the injury excuse largely went away. Their minds are completely blown now and they're probably still in denial that this team isn't even a play-in tournament team with the core playing basically 38 minutes per game. They won't make any major moves for this reason.

The only reason the Raptors weren't a play-in team last year was the injuries to stars on the Nets and Cavs. It was always going to be different this year in a tougher Eastern Conference.
