Amazing trade for Minnesota if true.

how so? taking on a washed up lowry for an extra year for 30M. Its much better for Miami as it gets them off the hook for one of the worst contracts in the league right now. I suppose the twolves might be desperate enough to do it to get an extra couple of wins.

Not sure how much of Russell you’ve seen but this move is addition by subtraction. Washed up Lowry is a more impactful defender than Russell and he knows how to actually run an offence. Plus he’s only an extra year of salary. For a team that’s near the cap anyway

you don't replace turd with crap and call it a win.
lowry was bad last year but a lot of people gave him the benefit of the doubt because of his mom's illness; this year he's been just as bad if not worse and heat fans are ready to move on. trading for lowry is a desperation move for the wolves that really won't help any. twolves can just buy out russell if he's that bad a player. that's a better move than trading for that horrendous contract.

To be honest I wouldn't mind that Raps blowing up half the team.

Two two trades that I'm most keen on would be:

Fred, OG, Boucher to Lakers for Westbrook, Christie, Nunn and two unprotected first round picks. 2026 and 2028 pick swaps.

Second deal

Trent and Hernangomez to New Orleans for Dyson Daniels, Jaxson Hayes, Garrett Temple.

Although this might come across as blowing up the team, what we are doing is making this a run and gun team. Westbrook and Daniels in the backcourt, will be a great defensive presence and be able to push the team. Our team consists of long lanky players, guys like Barnes, Pascal will thrive in the transition game versus the half court creation.

If the experiment goes bad, we've loaded up boat with future picks and pick swaps. We Also grabbed a few young pieces in Daniels, Christie and Hayes. Most of all our payroll will open up big time come the summer, where Westbrook will walk and we can retool targeting some higher offensive guys like Lavine or Myles Turner to fill slots.

I'm curious if we'd still be better with Lowry, even with his struggles this year (we'd definitely need an asset or two if a VV swap was done. Lowry can still run an offense and is still shooting better than VV, but obviously is declining bad due to age/health. Not saying I would do the swap. I probably trade VV and Boucher for D-Lo, Reid and a 2nd, although Reid is risky to re-sign being an UFA

Hear me out.

Rumours are swirling that Harden might be headed back to Houston in the off-season. Sixers are over the cap next year even if Harden’s money is off the books.

Does Embiid ask out?

I kind of don’t like it for any of the teams involved. And lol Danny Ainge asking for a pick when he gets the most valuable player in the deal. Never change Danny boy, never change.

I know there is a lot of chatter here about Fred being unhappy, but it doesn't make any sense. He is having his worst year as a pro, playing slightly less minutes and is constantly hurt. Management goes out of its way to accommodate him and he performs worse.

He is more than likely grudgingly opting in at the end of the year. I don't think he is unhappy - he is the guy in front of media almost every night. He still is considered their leader along with Pascal.

It is guys like Trent and OG who are entering theirs primes who want more role, more money and be in positions to succeed.

With Giddey, I just don't see him having a high ceiling. He's an incredibly smart player but he's a poor athlete. I also don't see Holmgren being an impact player in this league either. Too frail and just not athletic enough. With OKC they probably wouldn't even do that because they are still years away from competing.

Wow, I don't see that at all, dude is a stud & a triple double threat every night. I'd love to have him here

I didn't say I didn't want him here. I'd love to have him. The issue is would you trade an ALL-NBA player for him. I don't think Giddey or Chet have that kind of upside and Chet has a ton of question marks already.

Someone tried to offer me Chet in a trade, as a keeper, in a 3 person keeper league. How could I do that? There's no evidence to what he'll do.

Yeah, I think they are just trying to sell you the idea of him being a keeper because he was the 2nd overall pick. LOL. But I just don't see him being an all-star. He's got a great skillset. Great shooter, can handle the ball well for his size and he's a great shot blocker. But his build is a problem.

I don't think we can get Dyson for Trent, and I think OG alone is worth all that from the Lakers and we're just throwing in Fred for free really.

I could see OG for Duncan Robinson and 3 first rounders happening. Miami gets a Bam-Butler-OG-Herro-Lowry starting 5 and when Butler gets old, they hope to develop OG into a better scorer for Herro and Bam's primes.

We need Washington to improve and move out of our way in the lottery.
Raptors trade: Fred VanVleet, Juancho Hernangomez, Malachi Flynn

Wizards trade: Deni Avdija, Johnny Davis, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright and a future pick

Fred is actually an upgrade at starting point guard over Monte Morris. The ESPN trade machine estimates that this trade gets the Wizards 3 more wins.

Too much!

FVV and Flynn

For

Monte Morris, Delon and future 1st pick

Would be poetic getting Delon for Fvv. I don't know if the FO can take this much heat or ready to.

Trading Fred is acknowledging the truth which I'm now seeing as well: Fred's never going to be an efficient scorer and that is limiting his ceiling. For a starting point guard...shooting 35% for the season is completely unacceptable. His most efficient shooting season was when he shot 42% which says a lot. He needs to be traded now before his value tanks even further.

His best role going forward is a backup 6th man. I can't see the Raptor giving him even that 114 million extension after this kind of season. If Fred opts out this summer...he might not get much more than he is making now.

Need a top 2 option.

Have 4 #3/4 options.

Trade Fred. If you can't get a 1st, fill the obvious holes....a real C, a guard who can....guard, find someone who can shoot, etc...
