I really didn’t think he had all-star upside even despite the playoff performance from last year. I figured he’d be an average PG with good offense and pretty bad defense. But still a massive improvement for the Knicks. So I was glad to have him. But I am surprised he’s been THIS good. Now he seems like a franchise cornerstone PG worth building around and keeping as long as we can. Congrats to all the people who were super high on him

- Brunson is arguably the 2nd best player on the 5th seed in the west
- he got better every year
- he fills our biggest positional need
- he can shoot so he can play off the ball too.
people don't get that you have to be a decent playoff team to be interesting for stars who are FA or demanding a trade. you don't go from 0 to 100. build a team.

Brunson's nice but he's a low-end All-Star if not a fringe one. Great player to have, but you still need the big piece.

Yeah. He's nice BUT... Really bro? You can't just say he was a great get on an insanely awesome contract? Someone we can move forward with? A winning player that this team needed more than anyone we have signed/traded for in DECADES?

He's nice but he's not enough? That's your damn reply? C'MON MAAAAAN!!

On a serious note. We need him. We also need to add to him. We need a true #1. RJ/Randle will never be that. Brunson is that now but, he needs more help.

For instance. This roster minus Randle and plus Giannis? KD? Star PF X? Or keep Randle and replace RJ with a star at his position. That's a contender IMO.

I am enjoying the treadmill winning right now but, I don't see how they get over the top. I assume a star level player will have to force his way here. Who? When? No idea. We have assets and a decent team but, how this shakes out I have no clue.

Brunson is for real though. He's the PG we need and we have him entering his prime years. On a great deal. Hope we don't waste his time/prime here with futility.

This is a bad look for you, no matter what you're wearing. We NEEDED a good PG and a star player. We got a VERY GOOD (or better) PG and he has done for our team what no great scorer could have done. We now have the semblance of an offense, and we should expect it to continue improving.

We still need a great new piece, but we also did far better than expected with Jalen. There is no point in denying what he brings. Now if or when we get the additional star, we should be able to contend. Without JB, it would be a repeat of our sad history: MacAdoo, MyDyess, McDaniels, Melo, etc., etc., etc.

How is it a bad look?

He is a low-end All-Star, if he even makes the team. He'll likely be one of the last players selected by the coaches, assuming he makes the cut.

Brunson's a great piece to have but he's just not elite. Without an elite player, we'll be a treadmill team with a pretty low ceiling (first-round exit). This is what we need to take the next step. Brunson was a step in the right direction though.
