New Balance might be the biggest loser in all of this. Tying your fortune to a guy with debilitating leg injuries might not have been the wisest move for a shoe company.

This is karma for the Clippers having their execs in the stands at Raptors games stalking Kawhi.

I have no faith in them to turn it around. You can’t win in this league with two part time stars that have zero leadership qualities. The complete absence of chemistry is clear as day when you watch them play. They have the talent but they don’t play like a team, and that’s not a switch you can just flip when the playoffs roll around.

Beat me to saying the same thing  . F Balmer.

But seriously, Kawhi's window was always going to be 1-3 years, his degenerative injury was a known, the Clips knew this and lost the gamble and couldn't build a bench as well. They really need to just reset at this point and try to build role players and deptch with what they can maybe get a fringe star by trading PG, and hope to God they can collude with another star player to bring them there in free agency since they wont have any 1sts in a long long time.

The Clippers and Nets have been competing with each other since 2019 for which team can have their stars miss more games and be more disappointing and be a on-paper team. We have the Brooklyn On-Papers and the Los Angeles On-Papers.

At least the Clippers made a conference finals. Right now it looks like the Nets are in a better position than the Clippers. It certainly didn’t look that way when Kyrie was suspended, or when Durant demanded a trade. Things could look different in 2 weeks.

When does Kawhi enter "worst contract in the league" discussion? over 2 years now he will have been paid 80 mill to produce like 30 games of lower level star play

Hardest stretch of the season. The Lakers and others will likely pass them up in the standings.

The rotation was always a little overrated. The Clippers also have been a pretty weak team mentally. Now that rotation is getting pretty old. PG is playing good but is in and out of the lineup which happens with older dudes. You have Kawhi injury history and it’s clearly impacting him even when on the floor, he doesn’t look the same. I think they were always an overhyped team that now old age and injury has really impacted. Going to be a long rebuild.

Hey man I was wanting to ask... has it occurred to you that you could just have a user name that doesn't reference a particular team? I know you have another name request pending right now and it seems like for the number of times you've changed it it would make sense to just call yourself something non-team-specific at this point.

Yes they have the talent but not the IQ or energy required to compete. Up to me I'd see what I'd start looking at offers for some of their older guys like PG and Morris. Not sure what they would be able to get anything of value though.

You really think their problem is IQ or energy? Not the fact that their stars don't play half the time and their lineup for a given night is in constant flux?

If PG and Kawhi were playing every night and their role players for goodness sake weren't also taking games off I'm sure they would be pretty good. They just don't have consistency in who's playing and when at all.

It's big news whenever Kawhi plays a game, so yeah they never had a window. At least Phoenix got a Finals series out of mortgaging their future.

“Number of times” being twice in like 8 years lol. Ya’ll act like I’ve been doing this every year. If I was planning on switching again, I’d agree. But this change is permanent. I do know you’re genuinely asking the question though, and I hear ya man.

Not closed, slammed shut.

They will get 1 pick of their own out of their next 4 drafts until 2026 and can start rebuilding in 2027, and with a little luck could be relevant again as early as 2033 if everything goes to plan.
