It's enough to all those Bojan Bogdanovic trade news.

No way we trade for him using a FRP which is seen as a very valuable pick for a 34 year old who will decline sooner than later. Bojan does not put the lakers on the top and does not worth a FRP. Let those other teams pay and we can target other suitable players.

please trade AD ... in a three way with Indiana and ATL

more likely: https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7641715

less likely, with Indiana straight up:
https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7641721

least likely but makes most sense is with Brooklyn... they need a superstar to pair with KD after this season:

I really don't want to give up on LeBron and AD. They are still THAT duo when healthy. And if the Lakers had the depth, they could've survived these stretches without one of them. The Clippers have been in the playoffs these past few years while their stars have missed bigger chunks of time than AD.

The reality is that the Westbrook trade depleted too much depth. And, Westbrook doesn't have nearly the impact that he used to. The Lakers have been a much worse team as a result. The Lakers needed small changes after the 20/21 season. But after the Westbrook trade, the Lakers dug themselves a much larger hole. The Lakers wasted these last 2 years.

2 things I'm thinking about with the Lakers moving forward:

- Are the Lakers just waiting to acquire another star? IMO, I feel like they are. Whether they're successful or not, it feels like they've been chasing that since they originally traded for AD. They created cap space for Kawhi and trade rumors have usually connected them to stars. Westbrook was an (awful)attempt at that.

- Is it possible to create a contender even if the Lakers were willing to make major trades for non-stars?

Maybe we can sneak in in some trades between other teams?

Like if Magic targeted VanVleet, we may join in as third team

Who says no:

Gary Trent Jr. for Bev+Nunn+FRP (top 5 protected)

Toronto sheds GTJr's 2nd year salary, and probably get a lotto pick in '27.

Lakers get (somewhat) bigger + shooting, but lose out on some capspace for next year (thus the protection). With the lottery being top 4 crapshoot top 5 is less a dealbreaker, IMO.

I’m all for adding Trent but I have massive doubts that he has the value of a first given his contract situation. I could maybe be talked into it, but the protections would need to be much stronger.

I’m trying to come up with a trade that I think might happen lol. Have we even seen Pelinka protect a pick yet?

Good point about Pelinka not protecting picks.

I like the framework of your deal, I just think the Lakers can put heavier protections on the pick cause I don’t think the Raptors have very much leverage.

Trent has got one foot out the door and doubt he’s drawing heavy interest in the trade market from other teams for a 1st rounder give his FA status.

priority #1.... trade for jae crowder. Lonnie is good return for him. Lonnie and Juan for jae. and in a second if we need to.

priority #2
Beverly, Nunn, Juan, jones and a UNPROTECTED first for Turner and TJ

suns are definitely looking to shed Landry and trade jae... if first trade isn't ok with them.... Beverly, Juan, Jones for jae and Landry should get it done

Johnathan Issac returned to action recently. I still keep the buy low view on him.

Pat Bev + Nunn + FRP for Johnnathan Issac

Johnathan Issac will be the backup forward this season. While his condition gets better, A front court duo of AD + Johnathan Issac would be terrifying in the playoff.

Sign for buyouts and/or Josh Jackson to strengthen the wing depth / guard depth.

It very well could be Kyrie. And i would be typical of Jeanie to want to chase a star like that.

I would go in a different direction and flip Westy now for a handfull of guys that can help AD and Lebron make a push. The West is wide open and who knows what can happen in the playoffs with healthy AD and Lebron.

We are 2 games out of the 6th seed and 4 games out of the 4th seed.
We’ve lost some tough close games that we should have won.
With AD coming back, LBJ will get some much needed rest.

I’m not sure they’ll make a big trade and give up the firsts at this point specially if they start winning consistently with AD in the line up, if he stays in the line up.

They’re not trading Westbrook and any of the firsts. It’s pretty clear at this point and I’ve made my peace with it.

I’m still holding out hope they swing a couple of small trades using Nunn and Lonnie with some seconds to upgrade the wings.

As you’ve pointed out, the team is clearly better than their record shows and could possibly make a run in the playoffs with even a slight upgrade.

With the addition of Rui two trades I would be working on. First one is with Toronto.

Toronto trades Fred Van Fleet, Gary Trent Jr and Chris Boucher for Russell Westbrook, Damian Jones, Juan Toscano Anderson and 27 and 29 unprotected.

Next one would be with the Jazz. Jazz trade Mike Conley, Malik Beasley and Kelly Olynyk for Russell Westbrook and Damian Jones. Lakers throw in 27 or 29 unprotected.

Which one is more realistic? Is compensation close?
