Best teammate of Dirk during his prime

Post#1 » by durantbird » Thu Jan 19, 2023 2:08 pm

Who was the best player to play with Dirk during his prime?

Try to maximize the duo such that Dirk + the selected teammate are the best combo together when they played.

Is it Nash? Finley? Kidd? Chandler? Terry?

Nash was pretty clearly the best player, but the duo never quite hit the later peaks each showed. Probably still go with them.

I think Josh Howard might be my 2nd pick. Good versatile forward, good fit, as a group I see the Terry/Howard/Dirk trio a bit like the Jrue/Middleton/Giannis grouping. A clear superstar with two solid backup stars who are a bit underrated generally but not really capable of being a teams best player (I prefer the Bucks 2/3, but just saying somewhat similar).

Nash was the best player, but JET probably his best teammates considering how long they were together and how well they played off each other.

It's pretty clearly nash right? Fit wasn't perfect but they still acheived some impressive offensive results.

I would say chandler if we were picking a teammate from his championship run.

I guess I'd have to go with Nash, but the first player I thought of was Chandler, who would be my second pick.

I would say it’s easily 2004 Steve Nash 08 Kidd prolly 2nd then 06 or 11 Terry then prolly 04 Finley then prolly 07 Josh Howard
