A headline like this is targeted at a few select teams:
Sacramento - Davion Mitchell and Keegan Murray

New Orleans - Dyson Daniels, Trey Murphy, Herb Jones

OKC (they ain't tanking anymore!!) - Ousmane Dieng, Jalen Williams, Chet (can't imagine he's available lol)

Portland - Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons

Golden State - Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, James Wiseman

I can't think of any other teams that would have what the Raptors are looking for.

The article is quoting Doug Smith and he seems to be just floating his own ideas of what each player is valued at. I don't think this even qualifies as rumor if it involves Doug.

It'll be fun to watch Fred and Pascal win another ring with the Lakers - in the afterglow of the draft lottery.

But only on the assumption that we buy out Russ and P-Bev IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner. I cannot countenance either of those bozos playing a minute on the Raptors.

That's about the only way I could ever support the Lakers winning another. Mostly for Pascal. And agreed, Russ and Bev would be automatic bye byes!

I don't see how...

Why would a single game sway anything especially when the last one should've told you as a franchise everything you need to know about the ceiling of the team?! Nevermind the loss to the Hawks without Trae...

Whatever they're waiting on apparently has no tie in to the draft. It all appears to be an indecisive waiting game/as they love to deem evaluation period. For some odd reason they seem to be hinging the Raptors entire future on the next month of games DESPITE the fact they can completely blow this year's MAJOR opportunity to add a GREAT piece this year in the draft.

They're running up the offers which I don't agree with because unless the potential they're getting back is GREATER THAN that of a high draft pick in a loaded draft, then they fought back & forth over a nickel when they may be sitting on what could be a dollar or at worst a quarter but odds are the potential is greater with a high pick than whatever it is you're getting from a Fred or Gary trade who are the 2 guys MOST likely to be moved.

The crazy thing though, is all the rumours of what OUR team has been after are all upgrades (particularily at C) which is even worse because then to me they're just doubling down on a flawed hand.

Or you just don’t know what a flawed hand is. Or how asset accumulation works. Or team building. or player values. or the art of negotiation. Or cap management. Or projecting the failure rates of draft picks. Definitely not the concept of time value. Let alone floor spacing. or communicating like a grown up on a chat forum.

But mostly, you dont know how floor spacing works.

Also your rants aren’t long enough. Just my two cents, but you’re giant blocks or text just aren’t long enough. your knowledge and acumen get lost in the conciseness of your ranting gibberish posts. :D

You're simply NOT getting Simons AND Sharpe, I wish people would stop proposing that as it makes absolutely no sense for POR when they NEED to have a scoring duo so that they can try & copy teams that have that structure in place ie/ Tatum/Brown + Smart, Giannis/KM & Jrue, Curry/Klay/Poole....but they already have Wiggins so Warriors would be another one I'd be doubtful on. However maybe due to them falling behind in the standings they'd want to supercharge their defence so at least it's a possibility. It's just not happening with POR, they NEED another bucket getter and don't say Jerami Grant lol he ain't that. It would be one or the other and my guess is they'd want it to be Simons who imo isn't it. If he were prime Harden level offensive player with that defence sure, but Simons is more Poole so I'd pass personally.

For me, the Pelicans make THE most sense out of any team. They have a star duo that if healthy could compete with Tatum & Brown, they get OG to match Smart, while CJ can outplay White & Brogdon while Herb Jones or JV handle either of Horford, RW. If give Zion 2-3 years TOPS, likewise CJ to be at their best, so they can't wait on young guys if they want to give a real go at a ring. So they'd be my top target.

I LOVE Jalen Williams (him & AJ were my top draft targets before the stupid Thad trade) BUT yeah OKC would have to give more than just Dieng imo and of course Chet is off the table lol he's simply not available. We all know he's Presti's dream franchise guy short of the unthinkable & getting Wemby too. I haven't seen enough of Dieng to really feel swayed, although I think JDub is gonna be a straight hooper, his value alone hasn't quite reached a level (as rookie understandably so) that I'd comfortably trade for him in a package that didn't include either a high lottery pick or multiple 1sts. To me, they'd either have to give their pick with top 2 protection or multiple others.

As for GSW, it's just so tough of a call on Kuminga, I see the potential and I think people forget he's actually the same age as THIS year's draft class of rookies. IF he can reach his potential, to me he could be an even slightly more athletic Jaylen Brown BUT of course as a basically rookie on sporadic minutes on a true championship contending team it's hard for him to gain a rhythm when he's not featured or real consistent minutes. So it's a tough call that I think most fans here wouldn't even consider although I would BUT Warriors imo would need to add at least a pick or two. Couldn't really careless about Wiseman tbh & Moody's ok but personally I'd prefer a mid-1st in this draft for our scouts to try & get better upside.

Oh hell nah lol we don't need to get smaller on the wings and you basically split OG into 2 players. A decent shooter with a high level defender. Trading a toonie for two loonies lol

If OG gets traded there has to be a young player with clear all-star potential coming back, Murray will be VERY solid but he's not THAT. Not to mention compounding the costs of having to retain 2 players vs 1.

Murray is a high level prospect. There’s a reason he was drafted so high and had a great summer league showing. He is not able to grow and show what he can do behind a talented kings squad right now. Davion Mitchell is a good 2-way prospect and can fill the PG spot. OG is way too overhyped around here. You take that deal and run

If Raps are discussing Simons and Sharpe with Portland, it would probably make more sense that it is Pascal being moved than OG. Pascal gives Portland a great 2nd option next to Dame, and adds more size to their starting lineup, swapping out Simons for Pascal.

A starting lineup of: Nurkic, Pascal, Grant, Hart and Dame would look pretty good in a currently wide open Western Conference.

Deal would hopefully be Simons, Sharpe and multiple FRPs for Pascal.

I'd want a first in there as well, and then I think that I pull the trigger. Would fit the latest rumour of us wanting 2 good young players and a first for OG.

Ya I get the feeling Simons has the potential to be a very high end scorer. Only seen him play a handful of times, but I've been watching his box scores for a few years now. I get the impression hes a far more dynamic scorer than say, Maxey is.

He looks like he can score from all over the court and get to the rim with more than straight line drives to the hoop.

I doubt Simons at 6'3 180lbs is a fit with the raptors style of play, buuuuuut.....

Perhaps og for simons and filler is more of a fair trade for both sides.

Edit: nevermind, Simons makes roughly 30% more than og, we'd have to throw in the filler. PACK YOUR BAGS Bo Cruz!!!!!!

Portland are pretenders. They should sell off.

I'd want a first in there as well, and then I think that I pull the trigger. Would fit the latest rumour of us wanting 2 good young players and a first for OG.

I think that’s a good haul for OG

I think the Pels is the best fit for OG. I suppose it depends on how close they think they are to contending, tho. I think they very well could be the best team in the west THIS season, and kicking the can down the road is always risky. Herb Jones is a very nice defensive player but shoots sub 30% from 3. OG gives them another legit stopper who also shoots well enough from 3 that teams won't ignore him in the playoffs; a perfect compliment to their three half-court creators (Zion, BI, CJ).

Personally I wouldn't. I don't think Murray is THAT high level of a prospect. Don't get me wrong I could see him being a REALLY good, winning player but I don't see an all-star level player personally. Davion is a nice defensive piece but again to me you've basically split OG's single contributions into 2 players which will only cost us more in the long run. If they add multiple picks, it's something I'd probably do although it would likely solidify them as a perrenial Playoff team so those picks probably wouldn't even be that great. Although with SAC you can never be quite sure so I'd likely take that gamble.

Please don't trade OG! FVV and Trent first. You don't see a player like OG in the draft who can guard 1-5.

Cam Whitmore is a beast but I don't think he focuses that much on defense.
