Not a good defender. Not the greatest floor spacer. But on the bright side he's 24 and can still score well enough. Gets his shot better than, say, John Collins. Great athlete.
I feel like in the worst case scenario by the time he's 27 he's got the impact of like what Markieff and Marcus were able to do with us. Of course, if he never improves defensively he's not a player you want.
But he's also improved his scoring this year (highest per 36 so far in his career).
If that's all we got for Crowder then I think I could live with it. I don't think there's any other players out there you could get for Crowder who at least have the ability to get you 20 ppg. Of the NBA players whom I think are breakout candidates waiting to happen (as in, they are good RIGHT NOW but just need the minutes), I put Hachimura probably smack dab in the 50% group - maybe he never gets better or maybe he's a gem. There are some good things and some not so encouraging things.
But one thing we need to learn is that you will never be able to trade for a guy who is showing all the signs of breaking out, and you definitely can't wait until they break out to trade for them, because in both cases the buy low window slams shut. You have to get them while there is still doubt. So if anyone in the FO has some secret scouting or data on Hachimura that we're not privy too then you try and get him.
Anyway hopefully something with Crowder happens. Wouldn't plan on anything happening because it's James Jones. But maybe we'll be surprised. Or maybe we'll be in tears.

I'd be all over Hachimura if he had just one more year on that rookie deal. I'm just not eager to negotiate with two RFAs who play the same position this summer.

bwgood77 wrote:If we can just get something decent for Crowder and with that Ishbia report could some turn expirings and a first into a legit starting PG (was going to say Rozier but his efficiency is awful this year)....but just two trades like that, especially with our guys back would make us a lot more.

sunskerr wrote:Patty Mills isnt playing because he sucks. We'd be better served with Damion Lee of the bench at PG. I really like TJ Warren but I feel like the Nets like him too.
If Masai really has interest in Ayton I'd still want Achiuwa coming back here as part of that deal.

All this guy does is complain about JJ and Monty with no legit solutions. We are not going to get Presti, just stop it. He has fixation on a coach that could not win anything in Utah. What a joke.
I expect that no one wants either Crowder or Ayton. Hell, we don't want them. Who else do you trade that will return anything you would want?
Phil Jackson would struggle coaching this group with Shamet being his starting point guard while having lazy ass Ayton as his center and over hyped Mikal Bridges as your key player. My bet is that neither Monty nor JJ are going anywhere after the new ownership takes over. They are not the problem. It is like the Perfect Storm has hit this franchise. Unfortunately, it probably will not be until next year at the earliest when we become relevant again.

Yup all I never post about prospects, or trades, or coaches or anything besides Monty and JJ

Yup. OK. Lol

Makes most sense.

You just make up a scenario you love and expect them to do exactly as you say or you pout like a spoiled brat and call for their heads. You have no idea what restrictions that they are dealing with due to the purchase of the franchise. You have no ideas what is going on behind closed doors.

I think we should hire the Golden State Warriors GM this off season and if we can't get him lets go after that guy in Boston. We should hire Phil Jackson to be the coach or if we can't get him I would hire Steve Kerr. Those are my plans. F Presti and your loser from Utah.
