The worst case scenario? FO keeping FVV past the trade deadline, he got hurt for sometime, then comes back towards the end of the season rested and Nurse playing him 40 mins a game beating up 3rd stringers/by the time people don't care, and then demanding US$130M contract from us.

I don't want to pay Fred 120 million so would rather trade him.

Many would agree, but it takes two for a trade to occur... Gary is more easily tradeable. Plus, we need upgrade at backcourt... Gary doesn't pass or rebound.. he s a one trick pony

$33m out, KD makes $44m

That doesn't work

33.9 it’s off by a few hundred grand.

Throw in bo Cruz

Yep that works

He wasn't on the team yet. The only guy we could have added to make it work was Achiuwa (another rotation player). And then try explaining to the Nets that they need to eat Birch's bad contract for another 2 years to make the math work.

Sub out birch for young and the trade works too… a few hundred grand wouldn’t stand in the way do the trade, probably could have thrown in champenge or dowtins (however you spell their last names)

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Trent is a sniper, improving as a shot creator, making strides on the defensive end, and most importantly is a CLUTCH player.
He's only 24 (younger than Bane). I'd love it if we could re-sign Trent for 20-25mil AAV. I'm confident he'll live up to that deal.

"I've been in trade rumors since I came into the league," Trent said. "With my contract and my situation, it's almost complementary to get off the books or to help a team or roster. But you can't really focus on that. It is what it is. You continue to work. Somebody's going to want you. Everybody is watching you, seeing how you work."

Young wasn’t signed at the time. And The Nets wouldn’t have wanted him anyway. This is the thing I’m saying, it easier to get teams to take back bad deals in trades if the deal expires in 3 months. Teams don’t like absorbing bad contracts to grease the wheels of a trade if they run even a year, let alone a couple of years like some of the contracts we would have had to foist on the Nets.

The Raps are not trading the core of OG..Siakam..FVV..Barnes.. Precious..Koloko.

GT
Slim Duck
Birch even Flynn

These are guys that are gone..maybe even Bo Cruz.. I just think the raps will trade GT and Boucher but won't get a player that can help us with shooting or creating..a cheap wing player whoch they will try and develop..

You dont pay 25m to one dimensional player. Trent lights out but value isnt there anymore at that number.

Sadly I think you're right.

As much as I know that we need to move FVV as well, I don't think it'll happen. We'll end up giving him $30-32M per.

Fournier + Rose + Quickley+FRP(worst of ny/dallas pick) for Trent + Young + Birch.
gets rid of their DNP-CD players; gives them young productive player in Trent and vets in Young + Birch.

He has a desire to get better and is 24. That's the kind of guy you pay. It's either him getting 25 or Fred getting 32-35. I wouldn't give Fred more then 15 million if I had my way.

I feel like management is actually going to be too soft to trade FVV which is so demoralizing..

Does anyone think there's a legit shot he's traded?

To get better at shooting the ball maybe. His numbers overall sucks besides scoring. He's a Jordan Clarkson type of player. Don't pay a 6thMan type of player that much.

that's how i've felt all along. there's no doubt in my mind how management feels, they would love him back but the decision is in fred's hands.

and they'll only trade him if he wants out in the off-season/decides to go elsewhere and helps us facilitate a s&t like we did with kyle.

i'm with y'all though. the idea of having to watch them mess up their whole defensive scheme for the next 3/4 years (or more) just to cover for fred is not gonna be fun.

Does anyone think if we seriously considered trading Siakam to New Orleans he could pull a package of..

Daniel's + Murphy + Lakers 1st 2023?

I think if so you gotta take that.

imagine

PG- Daniel's
SG- OG
SF- Murphy
PF - Barnes
C - Victor W (get lucky and win lottery)

+ Lakers pick prospect 2023

Would be quite the supercharged rebuild!
