It kinda depends, doesn’t it?
If the Bucks sweep the Nuggets in the Finals and Giannis averages 40, 20, 10, and 5 blocks on 60% shooting then people will say Giannis is the best player.
If the Nuggets lose a series in 7 games where Jokic is clearly the best player and Giannis, Curry, Doncic, Durant, Tatum, and Embiid don’t have the best playoff run then people may say Jokic is the best player.
Like if Jokic loses to the Celtics in the Finals in 7 games and Tatum averages 20, 6, and 6 on 40% shooting then people will say Jokic is the best player.
How far does Jokic have to take the Nuggets this season?

Gsw, Lakers, clippers are all struggling to find consistency.
Pelicans/Kings are new kids on the block
Leaving Memphis as the main competition.
Lots of talk about jokic not having a legit #2. Ja has Bane/JJJ as his #2. Think that just speaks to the west right now. Teams are stronger 3-8, while maybe being a little weaker at #2. This holds true for even the warriors last year, who was their #2? Wiggins? Hobbled klay? Poole? Draymond? Are those 4 really better than Gordon, MPJ, Murray, KCP?
Hes got it set up to make the finals. He's got a deep team. 7 guys scoring in double figures. 4 guys averaging 16+
Finals or bust
Bane and JJJ have been more valuable than Murray and MPJ - and by some margin. Also, a good argument can be made that JJJ is the Grizz's most valuable player, not Ja.

You aren't counting Gordon who has been denvers 2nd best player.
I really don't think the difference between Gordon/MPJ/Murray vs Bane/JJJ/Brooks is that big either way. However jokic is much better than Ja

You are very wrong. JJJ is better than that Nuggets trio by himself.

Memphis is a very deep and balanced team. For example, they are still 10-6 (51 win pace) when JJJ doesn't play, and I didn't check to see if anyone else significant was out during any of those games.Alatan wrote:LightTheBeam wrote:Peregrine01 wrote:
