He's now an -8000 to be the first overall pick.

To put this in perspective - if you bet $153,000 you would net $1,900

The overrating/over hyping of this kid is not going to help his development. Come on Magic he's not even in the league yet...

Quick, someone call that guy who bet 1.4mil on the Chargers at -12500. He'll love these odds.

I’m bad at these things. How much do I win if I put in $100 and he doesn’t go #1? Can never rule out a bad injury changing the draft.

You can’t bet that he won’t go #1. You can never bet against something

Damn. Then that makes me curious what the payout is for the current 2nd choice going #1 instead.

I know Magic has shrunk a bit, but Holy crap. Just how tall is this kid? 7'3? He dwarfs Magic.

The franchise that gets the #1 pick this year should win 3 championships. My money is in the Spurs getting it.

Wemby with Pop...a match made in heaven for NBA?

Post#610 » by chuck_wagon44 » Mon Jan 23, 2023 1:44 pm

I know I may come across as being bias since I'm a spurs fan but out of all the teams that are tanking or have the best chance at Wemby.

Wouldn't it be fitting to pair him with a HOF coach who will maximize his ability? Also he gets to rejuvenate a small market team back to contention. This will be a great addition to the city of San Antonio/Austin and the NBA brand because they are be ensured his potential will be maximized rather than go to terrible situation like Houston, Detroit or Charlotte, where there is no promise whatsoever. I mean in Houston, they don't even play their best player at times and they have 2 shooting guards who play point guard roles. That would suck for Wemby for sure.

Charlotte, Detroit and Houston have terrible ownership as well so maybe a calming presence like San Antonio organization would be the best fit for Wemby and the NBA.

Plus you gotta admit, he LOOKS like a Spur naturally.

I know everyone has a circle jerk obsession with him but I look at his body and can’t see him lasting 82 games. He is very skilled but the amount of hype for him and the amount of hyperbole seems way too much for him.

It seems a bit awkward to let him wear no 21 in the picture.

I thought Pop had his foot halfway out the door? Or are you thinking he just stays for the opportunity to coach this kid?

How much longer is Pop going to be around? Maybe he stays if they get Wemby but i can't see him staying more than a couple of years, he's very old.

I´m just hoping he don´t waste his first years in one of those terrible teams. SAS would be a very good option for Wemby

I'm surprised he stuck around to be a part of an intentional tank job this season.

Reports say 7'4 with 8 foot wingspan, but in my opinion, he is closer to 7'5, definitely not a fake 7'4-er, he is incredibly long.
