Jakob Poeltl Looking For $20M Per Season In Upcoming Deal

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 23, 2023 4:42 am

Jakob Poeltl is reportedly looking to receive $20 million per season in his next contract, sources told Marc Stein of Substack.

Poeltl is currently in the final year of a three-year, $26 million deal.

The Spurs are looking to hold onto Poeltl, who has been the target of trade rumors this season.

Boston should if they're serious about winning a championship.

They should trade Robert Williams, 2023 1st pick and 2025 1st pick for Poeltl and 2025 2nd pick (SA)

Durability?
But yeah that's crazy to trade Timelord AND 2 FRPs for Poetl. I think maybe he was joking?
I like Poetl for Boston but they should def keep Timelord.

Robert Williams tends to be following the same track record as prior bigs who consistently have lower leg injuries. As a Celtics fan it's very hard to say that given his potential but what good does he do if he can't play? So let's pose another question - would any GM trade their healthy franchise player for Zion? Doubtful.

I think the C's would need to trade Danilo for salaries to match. I doubt they would consider parting with anyone else in the active rotation who could match salary.

Only the hornets would be dumb enough.. although there's is a new TV deal about to kick off.. we might have to be ready to see average role players making $20m/season soon. Whoever said Boston should trade timelord and firsts for Poeltl.. LOL. Timelord is a better player than Poeltl in nearly every single facet of the game.
