He hasn't been a very efficient offensive player. Very streaky 3 point shooter and he doesn't really playmake for others or get to the rim either. His best skill is mid range shooting so he's kind of a dinosaur offensively.

Is KD , Kyrie and Kawhi dinosaurs offensively? I swear some of you let this analytic BS cloud your judgement. I can name countless champions that used mid range to succeed. It’s only this “special” area where mid range is useless. This is crazy to me.

Did you seriously just compare Hachimura to KD, Kyrie and Kawhi?

It’s probably Davis and Lebron with Schröder, Bev and Reaves.

The more I sit with it, the more I like the value for LA. However, Hachimura is certainly not the best fit in LA. LA Fans have said they need size on the wing that can defend but he's been reported as a defensive liability and doesn't solve any 3 point shooting woes the Lakers but good value...the other thing that's crazy is the comparison to Kuzma. Kuzma is by far the superior player lol please.

Hachimura is not a prolific 3 point shooter (doesn't shoot them that often) but our analytics showed that the last couple seasons he's been in the +70 percentile on corner 3's. Mix that in with his age, size and positional need I'm hopeful he will fit fairly well.

His 50%+ 2pt shooting is quite a bit better than young Derozan, I will tell you that as a raptors fan. Of course different eras (and derozan could generate some FTs), but he gets better shots than Derozan used to.

I’m not moved by this trade. Doesn’t really move the needle for them and they gave up a decent amount. Nunn wasn’t fitting and/or playing well, but 3 second rounders ? It’s not impossible to field a quality player in the second round.

Hachimura is a very gifted yet limited offensive basketball player. He truly has the ability to score all over the floor in many different ways. His mid-range game is honestly incredible.

The problem is that his peak is a volume scorer while not necessarily having the characteristics that allow for volume scorers to be volume scorers. He doesn't shoot his ways out of slumps -- when it is a bad night, it is a bad night. He'll often showcase his frustration with touches by missing swing passes, electing to shoot. He's moving away from his catch-and-shoot game that was deadly last season, opting to shoot off the dribble more.

Defensively, he is a liability although it really does feel like it is more frustration related rather that skill.

A new environment may help soothe some of his qualms yet there should be a real concern with how he's been treating this entire season. He's having more bad nights than good one's -- even if the good nights are amazing.

This was posted by a Wizards fan elsewhere. I’ve caught a couple of his games and I think this is pretty accurate based on my very limited time watching him as well.

Chris Paul, DeMar Derozan and Devin Booker are other star players that are also primarily midrange scorers.

What???

Pistons got bog for olynk

Clippers got Covington and Powell for nothing

We gave 3 seconds, including a second that’s like a late first (Chicago second)… no one got fleeced in this trade.

His shooting is interesting. Shooting 33% from range this season, his mid range is great. Last season he somehow shot 44% from deep on 3 attempts per game. Could he potentially improve his shooting again with more reps or with more open looks he might be getting on the Lakers?
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

interesting stat there - I'm curious why he doesn't take more of those than because his overall 3pt % is definitely not that great. Seems like he can become more of a specialist ala PJ Tucker from distance. He'll definitely get more opportunities playing with Lebron and AD

Started with the Marc Gasol trade and it’s never stopped.
