I don’t know man, I don’t think many people were trying to cancel Shannon. What I saw were people upset with the double standard between regular joes and famous people.

This came across to me as a professional realising he’s a role model in more than one way and should conduct himself accordingly. Big respect to SS.

Each to their own though.

Nobody was cancelling his **** job. What are you talking about? There was literally a 0% chance his job would be affected in any way. And yet, here you are, bawling about "cancel culture."

I think the only reason he apologized is because he's on tv. Spike Lee had some specific interactions with Pippen and Miller and never apologized for antagonizing them. Drake was close to getting into a fight with Kendrick Perkins and he didn't issue a public apology. The thing with Sharpe and SAS is they want to project that they can say whatever they want but still seen as "cool" to mainstream culture and on the athletes side and friends with them. I don't know how many times SAS has apologized in the past two years for something he said after there was negative reaction on social media or from other celebrities. They want it both ways cause they don't ever want to be on the outs and disliked. I never liked Jason Whitlock and notice he now basically has become a YT shock jock/troll just to make a living but he's never apologized for the things he says cause he doesn't care if athletes, mainstream sports media or casuals like him.

Why wasn't he kicked out of the arena. He is a fan right?
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Better than what many would do

Barkley, Shaq, LeBron wouldn’t have done it or said it as well

When is the league going to do something about the **** talking Grizzlies? I know JA is their new generation poster boy but in reality league vets like Lebron have had it with his team's clown antics

Thank you for apologizing to me Shannon.

I was quite confused about whether I should go to games and get in fights with people. Thanks for clearing it up.

bayles is fake shannon is real

but i don't watch them so i don't care
and no one cares that i don't care

so there.
however it would have been funner as hell if people started impaling lebron for being associated with his #1stan and lebron having to answer for it - that's all he needs right about now

I can't believe how many people are supporting him. Shannon is doing too much now, looking like a clout chasing goofy. It reminds me of Samuel L Jackson doing this at the Knicks game, clearly was clout chasing and trying to be another Spike Lee but Spikes happened naturally. I hate forced ****. You are not more important than any other fan. Sit your a** down

stop it. The Spike stuff was friendly banter. This was the exact opposite. Shannon looked like a goofy out there making it all about him

Smack talking has always been part of the game. You act as if Lebron doesn't take part and plays as a mute.

Shannon is a real one. In todays social media driven and political atmosphere where people are encouraged to never apologize or held accountable, Sharpe is an example of a real human being. He didn’t equivocate, he didn’t pursue whataboutism, he owned his behavior and genuinely apologized.

Skip should take notes.

I feel like this is the opposite of the current atmosphere. Everything is blown out of proportion and the need to apologize for everything is the highest I have ever seen it. What is he exactly owning up to? Telling an athlete he is too small to guard LeBron? He just apologized like he walked onto the court and beat the halftime show up

I've hated Skip for as long as I can remember and I've been a Bills fan for as long as I can remember and Skip's felt more genuine to his actual feelings than Shannons did. And again, I love Shannon and hate Skip. His tweet was 100% misunderstood IMO

Sharpe is a professional and media personality, he needs to hold himself to a higher standard. Trash talk is great and fun but acting a fool, going on the court and threatening to fight the whole Grizzlies team is way over the line. He made it all about Shannon Sharpe when he’s only supposed to be a spectator. This was more than just telling Brooks he’s too small to guard Lebron. I don’t know how anyone can’t see this is a different context than run of the mill trash talk.
