Cmon man, 8 is standard. It's 10 when you really have to be worried.

Major League Baseball is investigating Chicago White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger for alleged domestic violence and child abuse involving his 10-month-old daughter and her mother, according to Brittany Ghiroli and Katie Strang of The Athletic.

The child's mother, Olivia Finestead, has been in contact with MLB since the summer, she told The Athletic, and has detailed incidents of physical, emotional, and verbal abuse to league investigators. Finestead said Clevinger choked her last June and, two weeks later, slapped her in a hotel room during a team road trip and threw chewing tobacco at their child.

The alleged incidents occurred last season, while Clevinger was a member of the San Diego Padres.

Scott Rolen is the only inductee into the HOF this year. He was also a primary part of one of the Jays' best one-red-paperclip trade chains:

2005 - traded Miguel Batista and Orlando Hudson for Troy Glaus and Sergio Santos.
2008 - traded Troy Glaus for Scott Rolen.
2009 - traded Scott Rolen for Edwin Encarnacion and stuff.

Orioles getting Cole Irvin. That would have been a nice 5th starter for us.

Irvin's metrics are pretty bad. Strikes almost no one out, gives up a lot of hard contact. Suppresses walks but that's really it. He has produced good numbers at home (in a very pitcher-friendly park) while getting rocked away. Not a great profile for the Dome.

blast from the past Troy Glaus

I hope for the Jays this means we stick to the White, Grey, Light Blue, and Dark Blue and get rid of those awful red jerseys.

Brown's been on the shortlist for next GM hire in baseball for a good 15 years now. Great that he finally landed a top job.
