I don't have a huge issue with Lebron. I think the guy brings it. Does he think about other things on the sideline, and at practice?? Who can know....but on the floor, the guy gets it done. We got him late, late, in his career...and I think he's been better than expected.

I know Kareem had other things on his mind. I dont think Kareem "bled P&G"....it was just a different more professional time in the NBA. Guys showed up every night. 'Brands" werent a thing. There were no rest breaks. And look, I love Kareem. The Shaq thing has been used....but that's the truth right there. Kobe said he play for Pluto, if he could...just get him the hell out of here.

So whatever Lebron has going on on this side is of no consequence to me. I don't particularly like him. He's really 'fake', as someone put it...that just my opinion. BUT...he's a beast on the floor, and thats the entertainment I pay to watch. Not his phone calls before and after.

To be fair to ownership.....the era where you could overspend freely, or "buy a title" (as critics put it) had really ended in that 2008-ish CBA. At that point J-Buss was around, but mostly removed from things. When the CP3 / Dwight / Nash fiasco fell through....and Kobe's dominance had ended, and injuries had kicked in.....the Lakers were confronted with a new reality. I think they made a right mess of the hand they were dealt I think they are way too shadowed in their Fathers legacy. They continue to go that route of grabbing stars. But do note that that route got us Lebron / AD, and then a title! So it's not worthless...or some outdated idea from the early 2000's. It literally JUST got us a title a couple years back. So while I think we need new ideas and stuff....it's not like they are clueless. The Westbrook thing was that Massive swing that struck out. Hey....just like Nash/D'antoni.

Now with that said....this FO is too insular. They need new ideas. I don't really care if they own it or not....but an almosty entire overhaul of the FO needs to be made. The thing that kills me....is that we get so hyped up....and the entire world knows we want X player....and we have no patience....so we just get bent over the barrel each time. AD had 1 more year....and then the Pelicans were gonna get NOTHING for him. And WE CAVED???!!! We gave the farm!! We had to have it NOW. NOW NOW NOW. Why on Gods green earth were we throwing so much for Westbrook?? A guy who's shot had disappeared...and who's impact on the game was in a steep decline for several years. AND EVERYONE KNEW IT!! So what are we doing?? We can't even give the guy away....why is it that we're always the one holding the potato these days?? <--------- Desperation. We have absolutely no poker face, instincts.

Anyways.....I find this team unwatchable, and totally uninteresting. So I rarely watch now. But I still love the Lakers, and the almost 40 years of many great memories. I've just stepped away. Im fine with Lebron sticking around a few years...im fine with him leaving. AD is cooked. Westbrook will leave next offseason (please for the love of God) ....and we're pretty much in a full reset. Just like after the Nash/Dwight deal. Sounds like we're gonna have a good 5-6 years of "Developing" to look forward to. This is where I feel strongest that a new FO is needed. We'll see.

The Lakers are the one of few things in my recovering life that gives me interested and joy in the few times the team gave me this season
