That Leonard guy isn’t too bad. Imagine going long stretches as if he’s a role player on offense.

I like that we are actually trying to get into the paint instead of settling for 3s when we are cold

James Was Close... THIS Close
So many records were riding on tonight's game. Obviously, he finally gets a 40-point game vs. Clippers, but look at what he was trying to go for:
- Most points scored in a single game by a player vs. Clippers in NBA history: David Robinson, 71 PTS, 1994
- Most points scored in a single game by a Laker vs. Clippers in NBA history: Shaquille O'Neal, 61 PTS, 2000
- LeBron James career high: 61 PTS vs. Bobcats, 2014
Instead, James's 46 PTS is 22nd in most points scored, tied with vs. Suns and Mavericks in 2006 as Cavalier, and vs. Cavaliers in 2021 as Laker.
As for Clippers, Thursday is the ultimate test. A chance at a true winning streak, but they gotta defeat a lottery team in Spurs. So much riding on this one too: one loss could blemish their perfect record vs. worst two teams in each conference, ends a winning streak, and could put them back under .500 and labelled a lottery team.

Good job, like that PG said 3 three game win streak being their largest in unacceptable. Hope this is this year's version of that stretch in 2020 when we got our **** together and won 6 games in a row before Covid happened.

Good win. Less active suited up players makes roles more defined, less congestion, and a much easier job for Lue. On to the next one

Re: Game#50 Clippers @ Lakers Tuesday 01/24 7pm on TNT
team's looking better for sure but let's keep in mind
- wall is out, meaning he might very well come back and sink the team in his minutes
- reggie's playing again and playing better, and i don't think actually was supposed to play at all if not for wall's injury. what happens with him when wall returns?
- robert covington is getting a lot of minutes, and that might have everything to do with lue not having a choice given injuries, as he clearly has preferred brown and morris all season
- can you guys see a world in which luke or mann get relegated to 10 minutes a game again once everyone's healthy? i sure can.
unfortunately we just don't really know if the progress we're seeing now is the progress we'll maintain for the rest of the season.

Yeah. The problem with the 3-guard lineups was one of the guards--and you know which one. [HINT: He didn't suit up tonight.]
But Kawhi and PG played 35 minutes each. You can play almost any lineup with both of them in, and even Powell-Reggie worked when surrounded by Batum-RoCo-Kawhi.
Mann was 4-7 on 3-pointers and is shooting 50%/39% in January. If he keeps this up, Mann does so many other little things that Kennard is redundant. Having Mann open the game and Reggie playing the 4th quarter the last 3 games is working so far.

I would play Kennard more minutes then Reggie. Also more Covington and less Morris. Reggie was struggling to bring the ball up the court and still had a lot of mistakes. I think he is best with 10-15 mins.

Luke is not a point guard. Neither is Mann. Reggie is kicking ass running the second unit and has played the 4th quarter of the last 3 wins.
Mann's energy is perfect to start the game because KL and PG don't need a point guard. And his 3-point shooting is a pleasant surprise. If we can count on it, we can trade Kennard and maybe get some decent help at the 4/5.
That said, I want Reggie playing only around 20 minutes. But when the opps start attacking the ball late in the game, neither Mann nor Kennard have the handle to beat the press. If you watched the last 3 games, Reggie knows what to do when they trap Kawhi and especially PG. That's why he was in there, and that's why we won.
Ty's getting it puzzled out. But let's make no mistake--the difference isn't coaching, the difference is Kawhi and PG playing serious minutes.

Wall likely won't be in the rotation unless Jackson gets injured.
Return to Los Angeles Clippers
