He sure is.
Reasons to be excited: Luka, Josh
Good players: Wood, Dinwiddie
Great prospect: Hardy
The rest as you can see here is killing us.

Agree... DFS is also a good player, not a great defender and only a catch&shoot player but like 5th on the court is ok.

Sure. But Mavs should have won these home games against bad teams with missing crucial players easily and not fighting till the end. You can't play vast majority of RS games like it's game 7 in playoffs. If your star gives you 41/15/6 with 55 Fg%, others should do enough for an easy win. If they can't score, they should at least defend.

Mavs are only 2.5 games in front of 13th Lakers, who were 19 games without AD and who's coming back. This can get very ugly really quick.

Kidd is a genius.................... In his own way. Decided that, Green who couldn't miss and Bertans being a constant 3pt threat, should not be involved in any way.

Even with freaking 5 seconds on the clock he couldn't be creative and draw up something that doesn't involve a logo Doncic step back.

(Funny thing is, if you re-watch the play, all Spencer had to do in 2nd attempt was to pass the ball to THJ who could have gotten completely open in the corner but instead he ran all the way to the other side and left Luka and Dinwiddie alone in double team).

Kidd has been a huge failure this year.
On the roster makeup front:
1. The benching of Bertans, he's a big contract, if you don't want him, you need to showcase him, so that Nico can ship him off, if Bertans was such a horrible player that you can't afford to have him on the floor, then I'd understand, he isn't, he is a positive in way more games than he is a negative, in many games he was a much better option than THJ and Bullock, why create a worse situation than already exists?
2. McGee, Kidd was on the Lakers when McGee barely played and Mavs played him off the floor against the Suns, was Kidd not notified about this?
3. The 3rd ball handler, who told Dragic there are no minutes for him? If it was Nico, how did Nico reach this conclusion? You're playing Luka and Spencer 40MPG, we all saw this coming, was this the **** plan???????

Either Kidd is giving some horrible inputs to Nico, or there is a disconnect between the two, either way this needs addressing.

On coaching:
1. Mavs went from one of the best ATO plays teams to the absolute worse, late game execution is downright horrible.
2. Defense sucks since Maxi went down, I love Maxi, but he isn't the reason for Mavs defense alone, Luka and Dinwiddie heavy minutes play a huge role.
3. Load management of Luka and Spencer is downright horrible, the decision to play them in the 1st Blazers game was absurd, watch Steve Kerr resting all starters to load manage his team.
4. Even when Mavs were elite on offense, it was much more based on Luka heroics than good offense.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Yes execution was bad, not for the first time, but Mavs are not that bad in the clutch, problem is that they're playing too many close games against bad opponents. You will win some and lose some, you just can't be in that position so many times agains bad teams, if you want to be good in the standings.

When you don't think things can get worse, they always do.

The entire game was an abomination, but that final sequence is insane.

Miss Free Throw
Ticky Tacky foul
Can't run a play twice

This team, including the coaches, feel like they can't sustain any consistency. The lack or urgency is hard to understand - with this upcoming schedule against multiple teams in the playoff hunt, you'd think they'd show up with a different attitude to take of the Wizards.

Kidd simply can't read the games, he has his rotations in the head and follow them until the end.
DFS, Bullock, THJ and SD play 30+minutes every game of the year, no matter how they are bad or cold.
For how Bertans is bad on defense he didn't miss a shot in last 4/5 games but he play 5/7minutes a game..
Finally Green played a lot of minutes. After 50games. Wow.

Kidd is digging his grave with his hands. He is done.

We have 1 superstar and 14 role players, he has to ride hot guys.

What the **** was the stupid play at the end… give the ball twice in a row to Luka in a bad position covered by two defenders. Can Kidd just get fired already?
He has to put the ball in Luka’s hands because he doesn’t trust anyone on this team to make a shot other than him. I don’t either.

Looks like the plan was for Dinwiddie to take a 3pt shot. According to Kidd, he knew that Luka was getting doubled so he gave him the ball in a bad position so he could make a pass to Spencer at the 3pt line… Down 1… with over 4 seconds left… and they ran the play twice even if it didn’t work the first time.

Great basketball mind (who also got a tech in the 4th in a close game).

I rewatched the game, Mavs should target a cheap PG, but most importantly, Mavs should move on from Jason Kidd, this should be their panic move.
