Those who wear basketball jerseys are more about being flashy/cool than fashion. You see someone with a flashy players name and people will give you props. No one is coming up to a Jokic jersey and going AYYYYYYYYYYYY JOKICCCCC

If anything, he's among the only few players who aren't giving generic responses and is always fun to hear him talking - before, during and after the game.

I guess it's mainly his (non-existent) online presence, no TMZ articles, zero insta girls he has a baby with etc - basically, zero stuff that generates clicks.

Young people don't want to be like Jokic. Just look at him. Sure that's shallow, but so are young people.

A lot of that was the new market(s). He wouldn't have been top 2 otherwise.

I don't understand why anybody buys any jersey. Pretty weird to buy overpriced synthetic cloth made in China to strongly identify with and promote the brand of an overpaid stranger and a coalition of billionaire overlords.

Not that many Serbian or Nugget fans, needs more playoff success. Jokic not beating out Lebron, Curry, KD shouldn’t be surprising, these are the most popular players in the country/the world for the past decade.

He can win 3 rings in a row and I'd be surprised to see him top 5 in jersey sales.

- No social media
- Foreign (and from a country a lot of Americans couldn't point to on a map) - I mean hell, Shaq says **** in Russian to him on National TV thinking it's the same...
- No flashy crossovers, dunking on people, etc.

No woman will care about a jersey....ever. If you've got the body to wear a jersey to a bar, that they'll care about.
