They're not totally untouchable because you'd give up one or both to get someone like Luka certainly, but the small handful of players you would give one or both of them up for aren't available and are unlikely to ever be available.

So for practical purposes they're untouchable.

Yes, for all intents and purposes I will + 1 this.

If you rate all the best players in the league to build a contender today. You have a long list before you touch Franz and Paulo. But you would eventually touch them. That scale is "sooner" then "later" and is rising.

But that isn't the case, this is closer to "Poker" in that we play the hand were dealt. Unless you know you can increase your odds of a straight, you aren't giving up a pair of kings.

$2 Paolo
$1 Franz
.50. Suggs WCJ. Isaac
.25 Fultz Bamba

I think the issue with this exercise is that a number of the Magic players are still on rookie deals and a good bit away from what their peak years look like. Also you have to consider the value of these rookie deals. Paolo is worth far more than say Harden right now. The Magic have at least 7 cost controlled years of Paolo, where as Harden is basically year to year at $35M and in decline. You can't really compare guys on rookie deals to other players in this league at the top tiers. Suggs value is still very high, i see plenty of Magic fans ready to give him away for cents on the dollar. He needs to start figuring it out, but his age and athleticism are still on his side.

Yeah, trade value is fuzzy af. I actually found this to be a very frustrating exercise lol, I like things to be a bit more clear.
