Re: Tank World Order (10.0) The Empire Strikes Back
Today's another big day for TwO. Most important games
Magic v Pacers - A magic win would be sooo good.
Wizards v Rockets - There's no catching the Rockets. So a Wizards win is what would benefit us most.
Hawks v Thunder - Thunder need to stay out of the lotto race. Hopefully another win.
Blazers v Jazz - Kind of a wash. But I'd lean Blazers.

"Oh but we get play off experience". Oh give me a break. Trade away FVV, Trent and OG for whatever we can get. Trade away Siakim for multiple picks and call it a year. Roll out the red carpet for Wemby, sit back and enjoy the show.
It ain't rocket science. Winning is losing and losing is winning.
They are all deluded homers.

In your attempt at being the BasketballJones of Team Mediocre you have to admit that first paragraph makes total sense and you know it.

shoutout to playoff experience and internal growth, haven't missed a shot all season. Without these two things we've banked on coming into the year, who knows where we'd be right now.

At best, we'll have like a 10% shot at Wemby. It's going to take more sheer dumb luck than willful tanking to get him or Scoot, no matter what.

the real thing we need to do is see if we can get another high lotto pick. Then you go from at BEST having 14% odds at winning the lottery (52% for top 4) to perhaps having 30-40% better odds of winning the lottery than ANY other team. Even if you get unlucky and miss out Victor/Scoot, you can still walk away with good talent to rebuild with.

Thankfully it's a loaded draft so everything isn't dependent on getting one of them in order to be a success.

OG to the Pels for Daniels, filler & the 2023 Lakers 1st RD Pick.
Fred to whomever for a late 1st and filler.

Step 1:
Van Vleet
FOR
Lakers Pick (8th-10th at the moment), Devonte Graham and Jaxson Hayes
Step 2:
Raptors Pick (say 10th) and Lakers pick (say 8th, I think AD rushing back is a bad sign and they won't move the picks since they might need them in the summer or next deadline for a sign and trade or if a 2nd tier star like Lavine becomes available) and our 2024 unprotected Raptors 1st for the #2 pick to get Scoot.
Step 3:
Bring back Trent and OG, throw out Scoot-Graham-Trent-OG-Barnes-Siakam-Achiuwa-Koloko-MLE Centre and that's your team basically, maybe Thad, Porter and Birch's expiring for Duncan Robinson or Tim Hardaway JR and some 2nds, or we trade like two 2nds and get a protected first to get some draft equity back. Desperately need Barnes to develop as a shooter like Jaylen Brown did in this scenario.

As of now, do you think we would be pick one of the Thompsons if they landed at pick 3 let's say?

Re: Tank World Order (10.0) The Empire Strikes Back
A Thad-esque sort of trade I can't get excited by but could see if the market for Van Vleet drops out and we look to keep him:
Trent and Boucher for Osman and Levert and Golden State's 2024 2nd rounder and Lakers 2026 2nd rounder.
Cleveland gets 2 wildly different options at the 3 in Trent and Boucher (they played Markannen there, he shoots is more willingly than Okoro, and you'd start all 3 players in the 4 series you're hoping to play based on matchups).
We get cap space, some 2nds that might be in the 30s (if Steph misses time next year, Lakers pick just looks good in general) and guys who fit if we can't use cap space and end up staying over and retaining them, as Osman is a shooting 3 and Levert hopefully hits a late peak as many skill-based 2 guards have lately (Clarkson, Crawford, Lou Williams, Demar).
Precious-Koloko
Siakam-Barnes-Precious
Barnes-Osman-2023 1st
OG-Levert-2023 1st
VanVleet-MLE
and then we look to move the 2nds and maybe a protected first with the Birch/Thad/Otto 20M of expirings or a stop gap center, like a sign and trade with San Antonio for Poeltl (lotto protected) or one with Chicago for Vucevic (top 20 and conveys into 2 2nds if not sort of thing) or Nurkic if Portland tanks or ideally Myles Turner but probably not, or Olynyk (only 2nds).

Re: Tank World Order (10.0) The Empire Strikes Back
A big question for me here I'd like to hear more takes on is the market for players.
Re: VanVleet
Will 2 of New Orleans, the Clippers and Suns get in a bidding war? Is ownership in Houston or Orlando sick of losing and believes in their young frontcourt or knows they will after they either get Wemby or more likely can grab a Miller, Jarace Walker or Whitmore who should rotation guys right away you'd figure. Does Terry Rozier being out there diminish Fred's value?

Ya, Rozier being available limits what the Raptors can get for Fred. Fred has a slightly better A/T. Fred is more PG/SG, whereas Rozier is more SG/PG.
Rozier is under contract for 3 more years (each around $25 million) so there's no uncertainty. I think that they should fetch similar value in a trade.

Having a bidding war for Fred is one of the funniest statements ever. I hope it's true just for the comedy. I guess the grass is always greener.

One of the dumbest things that gets thrown around.
Geezus Christ, it makes me throw up.
Playoff experience for a play in caliber squad.
