In my opinion, Rui Hachimura is right there with De'Andre Hunter and Harrison Barnes in terms of being empty calorie, pointless basketball players.

Rui will be an interesting development case in LA. I think some player thrive in bad organizations where they have a ton of freedom both on & off the court (ex Kuzma). Others thrive with more structure and leadership. It’ll be interesting if we see Rui thrive in a more well defined role.

I don't see it that way. WAS got three 2nd's for a guy they had no intention of resigning.
The Lakers are insane to empty the cupboard and kill their future to placate James despite the fact they aren't winning anything this year so he can f***k them and leave them in ashes the same way he has everywhere he's been.
I don't like that narrative. James left Cleveland, went to Miami won titles....went back to Cleveland picked up where he left off and won a title. Left Cleveland went to LA and got them a title. How is this f***g a team ? He has delivered everywhere he has played.
Delivered after demanding that teams sacrifice the future, and then leaving them after he has wrung them dry. Listen, we won't agree, and I'm sure I'm a lone voice here, but to me he is everything that has become bad about pro sports.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Bron ends up buying the Lakers from Jeanie and her brothers at some point down the line.
I would hate to play with my father especially if he is a superstar. Everything I "earn" playing time, praise from coaches, people will automatically think oh it's because of his father. The media will be all over me because of my father, that is a big spotlight. The younger players accept you but do they really? I mean they can't talk crap about the veterans in your presence because you could be a snitch. On paper and for Lebron's movie it sounds good but in reality it probably would be extremely hard for his son. Let him sink or swim on his own merit on any of the other teams in the league.
Probably the closest thing to this is Doc coaching his sons. But neither one of them came to play for him straight out of college.
LeBron wants to play with his son. He’s pretty much said it point blank. I agree it’s not the greatest situation for Bronny, but he gets to be a Laker 1st round draft pick if nothing else.

True we will probably not agree. I will just say I wish he had come to Philly and rung this team dry and left us with a championship. IMJUSTSAYING !!!

Again, I'll gladly be a minority of one here, but bringing that creep in here and winning a championship would be more tainted for me than the bogus 'bubble' title he claims as one of his four. I've been a "4 for 4" Philly fan my entire life, but I would have disowned the Sixers if he had come here. I could never be that desperate to see a championship.

That's one part of this I've been thinking every time "The King" proclaims what the future of 'Bronny' will be. So he gets drafted in the 1st round even if he would normally be just another undrafted G-League lifer, and does a 'victory tour' with dad - that shouldn't result in any resentment whatsoever, I'm sure. And when "The King" rides off into the sunset, does he have it written into his contract that 'Bronny' is not to be immediately sent to the G-League?

If I’m Bronny, I’m not too mad at my dad lol. He’s already getting millions in endorsements and gets to be a FRP with a guaranteed NBA contract. I’m sure he’ll deal with a lot of pressure and hate but nothing in life is free.
I agree tho that the whole situation generally makes me uncomfortable.

Crazy night for Dame Lillard. Glad to see him back at top form. I was worried that abdominal injury was going to tank his career.

Financially, of course you're right, but he's set for a dozen lifetimes anyway. And add to the endorsements that NBA 1st round pick contract his dad gets him.
Basketball-wise, it could be a total embarrassment for the kid, but the media will paper it over.

Bronny is the NBA version of Hollywood nepotism imo. The kid obviously has some talent so he’ll get a big role in a couple of movies because of his dad. If he flops, then he’ll end up as a supporting character in a sitcom nobody watches. If he succeeds, he becomes an A lister.

I hope Bronny succeed. And I hope he plays with LeBron for at least a season.

Why on earth would ORL trade any assets for a Van Vleet rental when they can sign him next summer should he choose to go there, which is unlikely? I would thing that FVV will want to sign somewhere he has a shot to win now, not be a mentor for a young roster a few years away from seriously competing.

Re: Around the League: 2022-23 Season 3.0
Embiid got snubbed as an ASG starter because he came in 4th in the fan vote. No surprise but it’s insane to see Kyrie as a starter when he almost caused a CBA crisis by coming out as an antisemite.

Embiid not making the all-star game as a starter is all sorts of wow. What a trash league.

The only thing I get is the voting part. He's not a popular player, especially if you're not a Philly fan. But he is without a doubt a top 3 player in the league. Not making the all-star starter is meah, but once again when he's named to the NBA 2nd All NBA team, it shows what agenda the league has. They have hated this organization since the get go, and this guy gets the brunt of the league's retribution. Pathetic.

Really hope Embiid just sits out the weekend.
